Depending on color name it fruit/Vegetable Slice if it’s yellow name it banana slice or if red name apple slice just a fun little thing for names

They will aggro onto spike walls and will continue to attack it until they die so make sure you don't have one where you do the taming.

These guys are great for getting a lot of things

Chances are, if you see one, and it's not from a large distance, it already is going to try and murder you. They have an immense aggro range, and they deal a huge amount of melee damage. Unless you're very well armoured, I would suggest staying away. If you want to kill one, however, I would suggest using whatever tool/tame that you have that gets organic polymer the best, as they are the only creatures that can give you it (other than Coelaocanth from fishing), and it is useable for Ghille armor (which is almost undoubtedly the best armor in Scorch, as it halves aggro ranges and has even more hyperthermic resistance than desert cloth armor, with the same defense rating).

If you are to tame a mantis I would recommend you try to tame it where it is far away from anything that it can Agro on or else you will have to start over. Don't tame these guys in big numbers I'd reccomend, at most, two at a time so you don't get distracted or lose sight. I also reccomend that you don't try taming one of these guys until you are absolutely ready with repellent and horns. Beware the horns are heavy. Good luck!

For collecting death worm horns build metal spike walls place in line and lead it into it and keep it distracted so it doesn't attack the walls

Grab it with a karkinos, and find a safe spot. Use bug repellent and some deathworm horns for taming.

Spend 20mins following it around and then let it agro a vulture and let that 20mins go to waste

Baby mantis eat raw meat!! Not rotten!! Good luck. Little guys r hard to find. Place them on rug to see the better

Level one Mantis needs only one death worm horn we discovered this when we encountered a Mantis and tamed it. Hopefully this was useful.

Rhino horns won’t go in the last slot or any slot of your hot bar at least on PS4 it didn’t

Woolly Rhino horns only work on PC at the mo.

Use primitive tools and not other higher damage tools I’m not sure why but they do better with primitive tools.

Walk north west corner of desert with a high level rex, u should be able to find death worms in region. Once a couple of them are killed, walk the border of the map(northwest) and the death worm should spawn in on the outside and come in to attack u. When u have 15 horns Agro a mantis into a trap, lose its Agro, now tame either wearing a ghillie suit and bug repellent or use bug repellent and cactus broth or all three

You cant tame them on ps servers with wooly rhino horn becaus you cant equip the horns

If you kill one of these guys, harvest with a moschops and you’ll have a bunch of organic polymer. Doesn’t give quite as much as a karkinos, but easier to kill and a bit more common on Gen 2

Mantis can be tamed in 2 high trap with ramp, easier with tek suit. Knock out with tek now. Hope this helps

Mantises are hard to tame because you can only use horns of the death worm and wooly rhino however there is also a chance of death when using the long bow to knock out mantises

Use Fire Arrows, one shot kills even a 150.

Make a mantis trap they are very easy to make, look on youtube to see how to build one it will make life so much easier
