Chapter one: Still alive!
Jack gazed in wonder at himself. He was alive! How was he not dead? Jack’s medallion glowed even brighter. The British squad was very confused. “How is he alive?!” One shouted. “Is he…undead?” One asked. “Bah humbug! There’s no such thing!” Another said. “Oy! I ’ave an idea.” One with missing teeth said. “Let’s bwing him to captain Showtstacks.” They all nodded in agreement. “Great idea Johnny!” They congratulated him. “First good idea you’ve ever had!” They pointed their guns at Jack again. “Don’t move!” One shouted. Jack raised his hands slowly. One of the soldiers walked behind him and handcuffed him tightly. He nudged Jack with his gun. “Go on. Start walking.” Jack lowered his head and shuffled along behind the soldiers. They surrounded him from all sides so that he wouldn’t try to run away. They led him to the British boat where Captain “Shortstacks” as the soldiers called him stood at the wheel of the ship. “Captain Shor- I mean…Captain we found this pirate.” A soldier reported. “Why didn’t you kill him then?” Shortstacks asked. “Well…we shot him and…uh…he…um didn’t die.” Captain Shortstacks scoffed. “Right. Like I believe that. ” He turned to Jack. “Who are you and what are you doing here?” Jack stared at the ground and studied the Captain’s shoes. Black boots, hardly a smudge on them. You can tell a lot by looking at a person’s appearance. Captain Shortstacks appearance was very neat and he looked like he hadn’t broken a sweat in years. “Answer me!” Captain Shortstacks exclaimed impatiently. Jack calmly looked him in the eye. “My name is Jack Kylan Peterson and you bombed my family. If you expect me to corporate after that then you’re wrong, Captain Shortie.” Jack stated. The soldiers gasped and chattered among themselves. “Technicawwy we caw him Captain Showtstwacks not Showtie.” Johnny told Jack. “Johnny!!!” One of the other soldiers hissed. “Oh wiggghht… we don’t caw him dat to his face. My bad.” Johnny said. The soldiers slapped their foreheads and shook their head at Johnny. “Oh I’m sorry. I’m not good at remembering names of people I don’t really like.” Jack remarked. Shortstacks’ face turned beet red. “ENOUGH!!!” He yelled. He raised his hand and slapped Jack’s face as hard as he could. Jack grimaced but there was no mark left on his face. “Listen to me you fool! I have you under my command and you will not mock me!!! If you do ANYTHING else I will make sure that you are hung!!!” Captain Shortstacks yelled into Jack’s ear. Captain Shortstacks put his face close to Jack’s. “Do. You. Understand.” Shortstacks asked. Jack brought his head up like he was about to nod but instead he brought it down hard and smashed it into Shortstacks face. Captain Shortstacks fell to the ground, his nose bleeding. Jack spit out a bloody tooth. “My nose! My beautiful nose!” Shortstacks cried. The soldiers were so busy trying to help their Captain that Jack managed to free his hands before they noticed him trying to escape. “Hey he’s getting away!!” A soldier cried. “STOP HIM!!!” Shortstacks bellowed. Jack jumped overboard the boat and into the water. *splash* Water splashed in the British’s faces. “ARGGHHHHH!!!” Shortstacks yelled. “Wow he has a howwible tempew.” Johnny said. “Johnny!” The soldier who Johnny told that to exclaimed. “Oh wiggghhht…I was suppowsed to whispew that wight?” Johnny asked. The soldiers shook their heads and slapped their foreheads. Shortstacks glared at Johnny. They ran to the edge of the boat where Jack had jumped. They waited for Jack to surface. For a minute. For two minutes. For four. But Jack didn’t surface. “Ha! He must have drowned!! Sail back to port! We have to report back to MY Captain.” Shortstacks said triumphantly. He laughed but then stopped, clutching his nose. “Ow my nose!” He headed down into the cabin for bandages. Then they sped off. As soon as they had disappeared from sight Jack’s head bobbed to the surface. He gasped for air then began to swim.
(Note: this is BEFORE Shortstacks died.) I bet y’all thought this would continue what happened at the end of THOM right? 🤨. Well geuss what? Y’all have to wait until this book is done to see what happened. What a cliffhanger right? This book will be about what happened to Jack after Tortuga was destroyed. Enjoy! 😉

The Obelisk
-Chapter 63-
The Megalosaurus shuddered awake with a quiet gasp, his pupils contracted to slits in fear. Just a nightmare. The same one he had last night. the feeling of his claws sinking into another’s scales.
He shook it off. He was an assassin, for crying out loud! he needed to be stronger than this.
There was a cough from the hallway. The Megalosaur looked up.
A greenish brown Terror bird leaned against the bars of the cell, his head twisted around to give the Megalosaurus a slightly bored stare. The Terror bird waggled his eyebrows. “Howdy,” he said.
The Megalosaurus exhaled, closing his eyes and turning his head away. “What do you want?”
“Nothing,” Said the Terror bird. “just thought we’d have a little chat.”
The assassin groaned quietly. He did not have time for this Terror bird. He just wanted to go back to sleep.
“I’ll start.” The Terror bird said. “My name is Quake.”
“Ahhhhh,” The Megalosaur hissed, lifting his head to glare at the Terror bird. “Thought I recognized you. You’re the Terror bird who bullied my cousin.” He spat the last sentence out like a rotten kill.
“Is that so,” Quake said. “his name was… Umber, right?”
“yes,” answered the Megalosaur.
“Alright. Your turn.” Quake sat himself down as if getting ready for a thrilling bedtime story. “How did you get in here?”
The Megalosaur growled deep in his throat and turned his head away.
“Don’t like to talk about it, do you?” Quake asked with an arrogant smile. “well, that won’t be a problem. I’ll just check your prisoner files,” He held up a small scroll.
The assassin perked his head up. “how did you get that?”
“Snuck it from the General,” answered the Terror bird. “No big deal. Now, let’s take a looksee, shall we?” he held it up and unrolled it carefully with his claws. He began to read. “‘Midnight.’ Ooooo, charming name. ‘Assassin. Arrested for attempting to murder his own Cousin. ’” He snickered. The Megalosaur winced, looking away.
Quake continued reading. “‘to be held for three moons in the prisons before judgment by the.’ Tsk, tsk. You’ve only been in here for, what, a moon now? You’re gonna be here for a long time. Unless… you got out.”
“What are you saying?” The Megalosaur asked.
“One more question for you, Midnight,” Quake hissed. “Why did you try to kill your cousin?”
“I didn’t,” he said.
“what do you mean?” Quake asked.
“It was an accident.”
“What kind of accident? What could possibly happen that would have you attacking your cousin?”
“it was an accident!” Midnight roared. “he—he jumped in the way.” His head hung low with guilt. “he jumped in the way of the target.”
Quake looked delighted. “Who was your target?”
Midnight hesitated. “Go ahead,” Quake hissed.
The assassin lifted his chin and said, “the Emperor.”
A slow, grim smile spread acrossed Quakes face as he snickered lightly. “The Emperor…”
There was a moment of silence in the prisons. Midnight watched the Terror bird soldier sit there, his eyes gleaming in a malevolent leer that made him look creepy and maybe a little bit insane. At last Quake said, “you still up to it?”
“What?” Midnight demanded.
“We’re not so different, you and I,” Quake said to him. He lifted his gaze to Midnight, and they locked eyes for a second too long. Midnight blinked at the eye contact.
“You’re tired of Avalanche,” Quake said, “I’m tired of Avalanche. You want a new Emperor, I want a new a Emperor. And we’re both willing to kill for our kind.” His voice was lower than a whisper now. “I ask again: Are you still up to it?”
Midnight thought for a moment. “what’s in it for me?”
“Eh, not much,” Quake said with a shrug. “just your freedom. Along with a new Emperor of the Terror birds. Plus, you can go crawl back to your little cave world, and not have to ever deal with us again. We’ll stay outta your business.”
“So, Midnight,” Quake said again, “Wanna kill Emperor Avalanche?”
For Umber. “Heck yes I do.”
The cell door creaked open. “You’re hired,” Quake said with a smile.
One of my first encountered dinos... I was like, "Ooh, stegosaurous!". Then it smacked me. And I was stuck on it. I was confused. I couldn't move. Then I could. And it smacked me again, the force of the blow sending me to the top of a hluse that was about 4 or 5 walls high. I died. I didn't have a way to get my stuff, so I lost whatever it was that I had.
The end.
