What are tips for ichthyosaurus? Tips and strategies for ichthyosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
If you're a mobile player enjoying the "invisible" Ichty glitch, DO NOT attempt to kill a Tusoteuthis with it! Even a level 2 is enough to kill your Icthy in seconds without a good saddle. I lost my 500+ health ramshackle saddle Icthy to one when it suddenly aggroed on me. This can happen with many wild creatures where they turn and bite you once or twice before giving up. But the giant squid doesn't give up, it just grabs, and crushes. Once again, do not attack the giant squid Unless you're certain your Icthy can take a pounding of around 800 unnegated damage!
Okay they ain’t lying I just was on my ichthyosaurus swing with a megaldon
So I’m on mobile and it tames pretty easily (Love you Salmon❤️) but DONT TAKE IT INTO SHALLOW WATER, IT WILL GET STUCK! Poor salmon is stuck...I love these guys but I wish they didn’t get stuck as much
TAME IT
Feed me meat or I will have you for lunch
The ichyosaurus is really hard to tame what i do is find a hight level ichthyosaurus and kill all the dangrouse creatures around it and start taming it with dodo kibble and raw fish meat you probably need a raft to go in to the ocean to tame this ichthyosaurus.
Build a water pen to lure them back to before you try and tame them can be a nightmare chasing them around
Where do you find these because the only place I can is the ocean and its teeming with megladons
Easy, great tame!
Things to note before taming:
-feeding one causes others to appear
-they have bad health and melee damage, but make up for it in speed
-best fighters against megalodons in packs
Here’s how to tame:
Find ichthyosaurus away from dangerous creatures like mantas and megalodons. You also will want one near the shore. Next, put raw meat (prime or reg.) in slot 0. Swim and approach the ichthy. It will be curious. Quickly feed it meat. Prime meat sometimes tames an ichthy instantly on taming multiplier three. Make sure it was away from Megs! Any megs around will now try to attack you sea creature. If attempting to take one near dangerous creatures, bring an ichthy saddle so you can hop right on and swim to safety. Your new ichthy probably will cause others to appear. If so, you should tame them. You could have a pack of 8 with upgraded melee damage and health, and they could easily beat a megalodon!
So, this is an update to my previous post about my Ichthy being aggroed on mobile. Apparently it was just a glitch and somehow it was fixed. If you're on mobile and the ichthys are clutching getting aggroed on even when you're riding them, try a few things. I do know that after my lvl 200+ died, I tamed another ichthy and all ichthys are no longer aggroed. So, though I don't know if this is how to fix it. Try it. Another thing to try is just to save the world in your backup saves and then delete the world and then restore it from the backup saves. If none of this works then I don't know how to help 😭
Get dodo kibble then boom (on mobile you get a free saddle for doing the mission and nothing agros to you when you ride it.)
On valguero, on the beach next to the chalk hills, there are a bunch of dead ichthy's. You get hide, spoiled meat and organic polymer from harvesting them. It's very useful for narcotics, ghillie armour and fabricated weaponry and structures.
Even though most aquatic creatures don’t aggro it megs will so be careful around those, luckily you can easily outrun them. mantas and other things will also aggro it if you dismount so don’t leave it unsupervised in an area with a lot of sealife (sarcos may also be a threat as I’ve seen some go way out into the ocean where they aren’t supposed to go, though I don’t know if they do aggro or not)
this little guy is the sea equivalent of the equus, you get its saddle after you complete the taming pursuit (very early) and the taming method is passive, this creature is docile and is very frequently found along the shore of the mainland and the herbivore island. very fast and has stealth (just like cave creatures) in the mobile version for some reason
Really, the only one good reason to tame one of these fishlike lizards is just it's perfect for traveling ;
It would remain invisible to every wild creatures, so, no one would agro on you
Plus, you would travel around at lighthspeed...
But the low health, due to low stats (low health, low melee damage), it's shitty for everything else
As it's an annoying taming process (sharks would not leave you, while you're just gaving food to the ichtiosaur), just don't lost your time on taming one, unless you are going to travel far
