If you want to tame just trap it using bear traps and metal gates ways

I find the best way to tame it is by grappling the back of its head and pumping darts this is the best way to tame giga hands down 🤚⬇️

I recommend finding an area with a ravine or divot that the giga can not walk over and trapping the ends with metal giant Dino gates. After this just unload into it with darts and claim your prize

K.I.S.S. Trap. This trap can trap nearly anything, including a giga. Similar to the metal gate trap but far cheaper. Four metal billboard signs and one large bear trap. (Bring extra traps just to be certain). Make a U with three and keep the last in your inventory on the hot bar. Make the giga chase you into the trap, if on a mount jump over the signs I recommend a thyla because they can be pretty tanky, jump really well and can outrun a giga. Once the giga is in the trap, and it triggers the bear trap, run behind place the billboard. This trap can be used on a rex, allo, theri, carno, bear, etc. I’ve only had an issue using it so far with a spino. Cheap easy trap. KEEP IT SIMPLE SWEET K.I.S.S.

You could actually just use metal billboards, 5 - 9 billboards are needed just make a makeshit circle but leave an opening big enough for the Giga to enter lay a large bear trap inside, once the Giga enters, lay the last billboards to complete the circle.

I used 5 for my first Giga, but you have to be fast to lay the last billboard

Get four behemoth metal gates with gate frames a big bear trap a thyla and a couple of grapples cuz you probably don't want your thyla to die a couple beds or sleeping bags ( just in case you die) make the gates to a square put the bear trap in the middle put to gates down ( where it's not gonna come from) and with the thyla or you put the rest of the gates down grapple to the top of the gates(have your thyla get it agro to it so you can be safe) and have kibble/mutton or whatever meat you have get alot of arrows or darts and then you can tame it and have fun

So late game tip - Get a quetz get the platform saddle for the quetz and shoot down with a Acendant Longneckrifle it will take a while may i add but it's worth it worked for me

On gen2 just use the tek armor to fly over it, ez tame!

I would recommend a trap with 3 metal Dino gates as you can make a triangle to trap it instead of a box

Bring extra of everything! Extra bows, tranq arrows, narcos, gear, food, and be prepared for a long fight.

One bite and your dead so trap it in a trap. U can make one with behemoth dino_gates or a ramp that leads into a roofless building

Can one tap blood wyvern. If your trying to knock out bring A LOT of tranq arrows or darts. There fast af and there stronger than holy heck.

This is good for getting meat

And pvp

If you can’t find any gigas then look at the mountain in the north east where the griffins are I found 2 there. I play on mobile though so I don’t know if gigas spawn there on pc or console.

This becomes super easy to tame when trapped in an Omni directional trap just don’t get too close also if you need to you can simply look up how to make an effective trap on YouTube.

Prepare for a fight if planning to tame with no kibble I suggest bring a tamed Ovis or two in a cryopod from there place 3 metal Dino gates in the form of a u and place a large bear trap in the middle once Giga is trapped in the bear trap go around and quickly place a fourth metal Dino gate form there shoot it with your preferred tranq method enjoy

Use a Rock Drake and hang on a wall to knock it out.

All you need to do is is make a half a hexagon with metal dinosaur gateways with a bear trap in the middle of it and then once it gets trapped put 2 gateways behind it. Once you’ve done that just stay a safe enough distance away and shoot it until it’s knocked out. Make sure you have a sleeping bag close but not to close to it in case you die. Make sure you have plenty of narcotics/bio toxin and keep it knocked out. The more people you have to knock it out the better. It’s best to use shocking tranquilizers darts but if you aren’t a high enough level you can use normal tranq darts. If your doing a solo tame make sure you have multiple rifles because they will break and your constantly shooting it. It’s torpor drains drastically and if you wait a few second before shooting all of its torpor will be gone

Try to form a sixty degree angle with two metal Dino gateways and a bear trap in the middle. Attack the giga once with an argie with high health and lure it over the trap. Then quickly get off and close the gap. And boom you’ve trapped a giga.

For any mobile players planning on taming one, use a x10 or x15 taming balm. You’ll thank me later.

Had a level 2 one knocked out. It took, with a x10 balm, 2 cooked prime meat to tame.
