Unless you plan on breeding these guys or doing some serious raiding the Giga isn’t for you my friend. They’re slow with terrible stamina and just ok-ish health, wyverns with a full imprint or Rex/Tek Rex can hit just as hard and move faster: save yourself the 500 some odd arrows.

The best way to tame this is to build a metal structure that can house the Giga and ALWAYS make sure to have at least 2500 bio toxin in large containers. Next is to lure the Giga into your metal trap. I highly recommend an Equus for the job. They are very fast but the downside is that they have a very slow turning radius. It should still be a top choice, though. once it is trapped begin tranqing it immediately. NEVER, I REPEAT, NEVER use a longneck rifle to tranq it. It will kill it in a heartbeat. Use a crossbow to knock it out. If you have mobile use toxicant arrows. They work TWICE as fast. After these steps put around 300 prime meat into its inventory. After this clear the area for threats, just in case another tribe comes along, but always check back to keep applying bio toxin. Once tamed, you don’t have to destroy the trap. Use it as a prison for your enemy tribemates. After you have the saddle, enjoy wrecking the faces and bases of your most hated, and most loathed enemys!

If you ever see one run like crap in the other direction unless you have 20+ trexes with 40+ levels or 12 level 1 tamed gigas and that’s just for level 1 wild Giga. Don’t mind trying to tame them because they lose 63,000 health and do 400 less damage and it takes 40 tranq darts to knock out 1 and to tame with kibble you need 40 narcotics to keep sleep. Wild level 1 Giga is 80k health and 480 damage per bite. Tamed level 1 is 17k health and 80 damage per bite. One benefit is that they can break metal structures if in pvp. Hope this information will help you realize how strong gigas are.

Met one of these on my 212raptor when i was a few mnths into ark.managed to run away through the trees and slow it down.met one again a few weeks later. . . .not on my raptor.it used me as a tooth pick.12mnths later tried to take one down on my L.wyvern.wyvern got killed and it did very pornographic things to me.avoid this freak with teeth until your properly ready to tame it.

Its possible to solo tame these guys but youve got to be fully prepped for a long fight.6 metal gates and a bear trap to hold him then hammer them with tranqs.take 4-5 crossbows with you.take ALOT of narcs,tranq arrows and raw mutton.

Now all tho I’ve never encountered this terrifying beast it’s still a tame I need! Now I know people already know this but build a trap and put large bear traps in there then tranq it out. They have pretty good health when tamed and their my most favorite creature in ark :) Also I know this is cheating but some people go into creative and then they tranq the giga or they use god mode and force tame it. I know it’s cheating but it’s pretty useful.

If you have the god console you craft a bunch of toxicaint arrows and metal bow you can fly up to his back and start Shoting him and eventually hill have to go down

A tip for solo knock out is be on quezal and ride a get off the saddle and aim and shot (some shots will get stuck in your bird
