Thrall Taming Method

If you’re having trouble surviving the Gargantar’s attacks or keep dying during the first part of the tame, try using a Thrall instead.

For this method, you need to tame the Gargantar on Lost Colony, since Thralls can only be used there. Gargantars can be found in the large circular, desert-like biome around the Boss Start area.

Level your Thrall heavily into HP and put several tools in its inventory beforehand. Switch to the Thrall, aggro the Gargantar and let it spit/vomit on you until you reach x3 and it swallows the Thrall.

Once inside, drop enough tools from the Thrall’s inventory to knock the Gargantar out. Higher-level Gargantars may require multiple tools, so bring enough with you.

After the Gargantar is knocked out, switch back to your main character and continue the taming process normally. You can now fly around and quickly gather whatever materials it asks for during the minigame.

If you’re doing the swallowing part with your own character instead of a Thrall, definitely bring a shield — it makes surviving the attacks much easier.
