ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Tips & Strategies
1.Punch it and aggro it to make it follow you(easier than using a bunch of element)
2.when it gets close enough to the element vein feed it 1 piece of element and get it to start the taming(gamma-alpha = 35-100% taming effectiveness)
3.use good weapons such as shotguns(pump) and if you have them use the bladewasps like this (tower)

(Dont use dinos as the dread will aggro) protect the dread from attacks from corrupted creatures
4.The dread will continue eating until fully tamed and will gain a shield to protect it while eating, when it finishes the vein it will be destroyed so no element but instead you get a titankiller
5.tame two high levels and bread them to get a imprinted mate pair for an easy forest titan kill(make sure to level into only melee)if you want to tame the forest titan its about 3-4 cannonballs per node with a max level with all lvls pumped into melee so bring about 30 cannon balls if you are bad at aiming if not more
There you go, taming for the forest titan and dreadnaughtus by yours truly
- TheScugMaster
For anyone trying to tame them right now it seems if you start the vein just a few seconds before it starts eating it the dinos it spawns just go afk and you can easily get a perfect tame
The Dreadnoughtus lives up to its name,
Built like a ship that crashes with full force and tears apart enemy Titans(the Dreadnought)
The Dreadnoughtus gains a dmg increase and resistance buff when fighting big creature, capping at 50% against Titans.
It's neck and tail swing, while really slow, can out dmg a giga's bite. It can also eat cannon balls to throw it up and cause an AOE explosion that can be used to tame the Forest (3 or 4 shots per node) and Ice Titan (1 shot on normal nodes, about 5 on the Chin node) as well as Rock Elementals (if hit on the head), or eat element to release an Atomic Breath that deals more dmg the more hits it takes.
Its platform saddle has 5 levels (well, 3 levels-the lower 2 are divided by 2) and can be loaded by turrets. Be careful though, any damage done to structures on plat-saddles are also done to the creature carrying it (on ASA). So either fire from a distance, or square up with no structures.
And the 3 seemingly normal, but in the Dread's case craziest things about it:
-it can breed. You can make an army of mutated and imprinted Titan killers(and corrupted heart farmer)
-it can have a mate buff, so even more dmg and resistance
-and it can be buffed by an allied Yuty's power roar. So EVEN MORE DAMAGE AND RESISTANCE
Oh, yeah, it can also 360 on the spot like a Spino

Taming method:
(Don't bring any tamed creature, Dread would attack them)
1. Feed it with element, he will follows you for 1 minute
2. Bring him to the element nodes ON FOOT(The alpha one give more taming effectiveness)
3. After he arrived, he will start eating or something to the element nodes and the taming progress will be increased
4. Your job is to defend him against the corrupted creature
A lvl 76 has roughly 73k health. Almost as much as a wild Giga. A lvl 150 has roughly 144k health. Almost double a wild Gigas. They also have a platform saddle with 3 tiers on each side allowing for artillery to be mounted. They also have the ability to swallow cannonballs and spit them back out as acid covered projectiles. If you wish to tame one of these titan killers, these are the steps to be taken.
1. you will have to first obtain element which is easily obtained by element nodes.
2. Find your dreadnoughtus and feed it element. (Make sure to come on foot as it will attack tames)
3. Lure it to an element node where it will use its EMP ability and begin eating.
4. While the dreadnoughtus is eating, corrupted enemies will start to spawn and you will need to defend the dreadnoughtus from them by killing them. (An ascendant sniper works great”
5. Defend until the taming meter fills up completely and you now have your very own titan killer.
(As of launch there is a bug where the corrupted Dino’s that spawn to attack the dreadnoughtus will spawn underground.)
Be careful raising one, takes about 300,000 berries to raise up.
I’d highly recommend using a good imprinted managarmr to tame this. They don’t damage element veins with their ice breath and are small enough to NOT aggro the dread. Simply feed the big guy some element and kite him to an alpha element vein (smaller veins give significantly less taking effectiveness). Then, fend off waves of corrupted creatures (you cannot hurt the dread by attacking, don’t worry). They get a significant attack and defense buff against large creatures like gigas and extinction titans. I’m breeding 5 to take them on right now!
To tame the dreadnoughtus you have to feed it element and it will follow you for 60 seconds. Kite it to an element vein and it will begin eating the center, protect it until it tames.
If you got BoB Tales you can use the Zeppelin to carry him to a Element Vain, only works for wilds and you dont should have many stuff with you. Maybe this will be changed but for now it works.
If you use a giga, you can aggro it and have it follow you anywhere, then cryo the giga and feed the dread an element to lure it the last bit to minimize the element usage. Don't do this with a wild tamed giga since if you get hit, the giga will rage, but if you raised and imprinted a giga they will only get around a third of their rage.
The picture makes it look sooooo plushy!
Taming a dreadnoughtus:
1.) Find a dreadnoughtus (better if closer to element vein)
2.) Feed element and have it follow you to an element vein
3.) Kill the creatures at the element vein for taming percentage
The better the vein the better the effectiveness
Don’t get close to one with something big because they are aggressive
If you wana find this guy there is a metal structure to the west of the sanctuary and I found like 4 there
Feed it element, lead it to an element vein and defend it from waves of corrupted dinos until tamed
idk why ppl keep saying to take him on foot to nodes… i always give him ele then hop on my managarmr and he follows me perfectly
