ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Tips & Strategies

In easy words, kill a Dreadmare, usually spawns around sunset/night. Get the altar from its inventory and place it. ONLY USABLE DURING THE NIGHT!! One the altar is placed, make sure that you have the five dollar fantastic animals pack for it. The altar will ask for any kind of item, including giga hearts, carno arms, Megalania toxin, and similar items to that. Once you give the item, it will spawn the dreadmare again. Kill it, and proceed to give it the next item and continue that process until it is fully tamed. There is a timer, however, and if you do not obtain the item within that time period, the animal that is requesting for along with the dreadmare, will spawn. For example, if it is asking for a giga heart, it will spawn a giga along with the dreadmare. Whatever level dreadmare you were attempting to get, is the level of animal that will spawn. For more information, you have to kill the dreadmare between three minutes after it spawns, and same goes with the animal if you do not get the item the altar is requesting. After you get it, there are multiple abilities in which you have along with gliding like a griffin, a black hole in which pretty much cryopods and animal and itβs inventory, and multiple long-distance attacks. It is an extremely good PVP animal and I would suggest it fully. For more tips, just ask.

More Dreadmare Taming & KO Tips
1. Locate demon horsy on The Center or Scorched Earth (ONLY SPAWNS AT NIGHT)
2. Kill it
3. Collect alter from lifeless corpse
4. DO NOT PLACE ALTER IN BASE! (explanation #13)
5. Place alter somewhere open
6. Summoning can ONLY TAKE PLACE AT NIGHT
7. The alter will ask for boss tributes (any alpha trophy from the current map + its RANDOM)
8. 5 minute timer to place in the required tribute
9. After each tribute is placed, the Dreadmare will be summoned and you have 3 minutes to kill it to progress taming.
10. Flys very fast in a circle and keeps its distance.
11. Best to use medium to long range weapons such as rifles and bring a Wyvern, Giga, Carch or Rex to help with fight.
12. However...if you don't feel like chasing Evil Pegasus around, you can build a trap around the alter ;) Suggest 3x3 floors around the alter and above, and 24 doorways at 2 height. Make sure there is an opening on the ceiling above alter to match the floor
13. If you do not place the required tribute within the given time, a high level dino of the given tribute will spawn. (Ex. Alter calls for Alpha Rex tooth, if the tooth isn't placed inside before time runs out an actual Alpha Rex will spawn!) keep that in mind if it ever calls for a giga heart ;)
14. Each time you miss a tribute, the alter loses health. You can miss a total of 3 tributes before the alter is destroyed and buh bye tame :(
15. Once the taming bar is at 100%, it will give you an option to tame and TADAAA! You have yourself a Horse from hell!
Breedable and eats spoiled meat when raising
They demand amonite bile on Astraeos, pls add this to the list!!
All tributes on the map can be asked for. Asked for sauropod vertebra on SE: summoned the titanosaur. Somehow I lived. Successfully tamed a lvl 15 π
DO NOT knock it out. Glitches the dreadmare and makes it so it doesnt eat and you cant go in its inventory when tamed.
I recommend having five of each type of apex drop and trophy before you try and tame one. However you donβt need any aquatic apex drops, meaning that megalodon fins, megalodon teeth, basillo blubber, alpha leedsicthys blubber, alpha mosa teeth, tuso tentacles, and alpha tuso eyes are not needed. However in the list of things that are required are the alpha apex drops (alpha raptor claws, alpha carno arms, alpha Rex teeth) plus giga hearts. The easiest way to acquire the heart would be to lure a giga or carchar into lava on the island and center. Also just to clear up something, rhino horns are not apex drops and are not necessary. They can also request trophies, so the alpha Rex skull trophy, alpha wyvern trophy, and alpha death worm trophy. The apex drops it wants will always be available on the map youβre trying to tame it on, so you donβt need to worry about collecting wyvern talons on the island or the center. On Scorched it is harder as most of the requests are one of the three wyvern talons, plus a lot of alpha death worm trophies and alpha wyvern trophies, which are pretty hard to get, so Iβd tame on the island or center.
Itβs about 6 hours on 2x to get to juvenile. They eat spoiled meat.
Taming a 150 on x2 official center.
Genuinly asked for 6/21 megalania venom. It can and will ask for the same thing over and over again so beware. And ark always knows which thing you are low on or missing!
While taming 145 the alter asked for a cera venom spine twice
Ceratospine is also 1 of the needed trophys. Please add
