The amount of narcotics you need is a lie you need about 20

Make sure it is near full health while your tranqing it otherwise it'll curl up in a ball and lose torpor

When using a doedicurus to gather stone, I would suggest going carrying the doedicurus on a queztal, and fly to a mountain that contains metal. You get more stone from metal rocks when using a doedicurus

While unable to gather metal from metal nodes, it is able to collect metal when attacking obsidian nodes. It is much better than the anky at collecting obsidian. However,there currently is a bug that prevents it from gathering anything but stone in the colder regions of the island map. If a large amount of stone is needed, metal and Crystal nodes give a significantly larger amount of stone per swing than standard rocks. Wild animals will not remain aggro'd to a curled up doed. So in the even of a losing fight with wilds, you can jump off of it, it will curl up at less than 1/3 health and you can kill the animals or take aggro and lure them away. If you stay on it it will stay uncurled until dead. Follow will also prevent it from curling.

They are great at collecting stone but it doesn't have great weight.

Can confirm on PS4 when harvesting obsidian, it harvests metal at roughly the same capacity, but you have to make sure that you are not inadvertently striking stone. But it will not harvest metal alone, must be the volcanic obsidian rocks.

Hey guys it’s GastricGem1, and I promised last time I would do a doedicerus so here I am! First off they can get lots of metal without being super heavy. Second, they can be found in the mountain area. They can also spawn pretty much anywhere other than beach. Third…. Up if helpful. 😉 next stop, carnotaur!

Shoot it with some arrows while on a rock then it gets knocked out then get some berries in narcotics in just get your Dino and get a saddle and then get a butt load of stone

You Stranch arrows or normal arrows to try and knock it out or kill use a rifle or some type of gun to kill it and shoot in the head to kill it but if you wanna team one then you get an a tranquilizer arrow and you shoot it in the head might take longer to knock out just a good tip step and if it doesn’t help then you know make your own tip hope this helps

I don't think doedicurus's come back when on wander I've done it but it hasn't come back yet

So, they’re pretty easy tames. High torpor, and very little narcotics. So, they’re easy to tame before you get the saddle! Now most people would think, ugh, can’t use it until the saddle! Others would say, if I put it on wander it will gather some stone for me. You know what I would do? I would put it to wander, then whistle it to follow me, then whistle it to stop once I was next to a rock. Then repeat. Once you’re done put it off wander and where you want it. Super easy and efficient and because of the weight reduction the rock almost weigh nothing in its inventory!

Find one of these stony boys. Make sure you have plenty of Tranq arrows, At least 20 tranq arrows or more (Depends on the level). Shoot at the head, don't shoot the body because it has a protective layer of shell and it will lead to a lot of tranq arrows wasted. When it's knocked out, Fill its inventory with berries. After a while, you'll have one of these boys! (Note: You can use a bola if affective but DON'T when it not affective) Hope this helps :)
