Dire Bears are one of the best mid-size mounts out there. They can harvest berries, fiber, thatch, hide, and meat very well. The swipe attack has a great AOE, which makes them great against swarms of enemies. They also provide a thermal buff that keeps you warm in cold climates. Their relatively small size, strong attacks, and thermal buff make them (in my humble opinion) one of the best mounts for cold caves, especially the large ice cave on the center. A very versatile mount, great for practically any role you want for it.

Every dino you must have
Anky the living pickaxe (metal, obsidian)
Doedicurus the living axe (stone mostly)
Dire bear the living sickle (fiber, that pretty much it)
Argy the litteral cargo on ark (litterly lots of weight reduction)
Castoroides the ark lumberjack (woods)
Trike the soil master (tatch, berries)
Dire wolf the living tannery (hde, pelt, chitin)
Tyranosaurus rex the ark butcher (meat, prime meat, mutton)
Hits like a Mac truck, more damage than a rex, easily 8k hp, super fast, LOTS of weight, awesome stam, great attack speed, gathers meat, berries, and fiber, super easy to tame, cheap saddle, pretty much a cheap theri that hits like a rex, fast as a galli, and has quetz weight. I’m pretty much just waiting for a nerf.
