What are tips for diplodocus? Tips and strategies for diplodocus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Stand under legs for no knockback so u can tame but earrape
Just get under them and you already won
You need about 100 Mejoberries. You should probably tame it around a bushy area, so you can keep collecting berries. Do not attack a Diplodocus! Just get close and start feeding it mejoberies. Feed it one mejoberry every time it says to. Diplodocus will knock you around during taming. This is not an attack. It's just playing.
Best place to find them is in a valley, get him/her stuck next to a cliff. Settle under 'em, just behind the front legs. They stop eating because they are trying to push you away. I stayed in place the whole time. Level 35 used about 33 berries, total time, including getting 'em to stick against the cliff side, 35 minutes. Second berry is like a 5 minute wait from the first berry. After that every 30 seconds or so add a berry. Obviously the higher levels will need more berries and time. Hope it helps.
As a resident diplo daddy, I love these guys.
They're easy enough to tame and have great health, stamina and weight.
In most cases, when you ride solo, the few things that attack it can be easily overtaken and escaped from (notable exceptions being the rhyniognatha and wyverns). This, combined with their stat spread, makes them great for safely hauling resources over long distances. They can also be used as a host for acquiring a rhyniognatha, should you wish to.
Dodoex lied. They do damage anywhere form 0-Instakill.
Here's a attack list:
push (10- instakill)
Yeet (instakill)
THIS IS SPARTA (where is my body?)
The only reason you might find one is because there is a dangerous Dino near just like brontosaurus they spawn in the areas of dangerous Dino’s so be careful I saved 5 from raptors and terror birds. #savethedinos
Always check for dangers while taming it. This thing is found in mountains and valleys and also sometimes it throws me into a spino or a carno or a pack of raptors
While taming, keep a close eye on your surroundings. Nothing is more annoying than almost taming a diplodocus and a dilo comes out of the bushes and bites it (which resets the tame bar)
They are very playful and like pushing you back. If you can get underneath them you can stay there (they won’t move out of fear of hurting you and they can’t pish you away) and you can tame them for there. I go right under their stomach and it is best to come under from behind.
If you want to take it, get a ton of berries and walk under it. There is a spot under it were it keeps attacking you but cannot hit you. If you find this, look straight up and feed. It doesn't move and can't hurt you
they just want to play...
Don’t let anyone tell you the diplodocus is completely useless. I’ve found a VERY viable use for it (especially in aberration)
The diplo may not be able to defend itself however its pretty dang fast,, it also has a crap ton of weight. So I use my diplo for metal runs. On the island I used it as an argument of sorts instead of carrying an anky with an argy (I had just started at the time) I tamed a diplo and used it to carry all my metal to and from base. And because the diplo is really fast it made the journey way less slower than it would’ve been. I now use my diplo in aberration as a permanent argy, except I gather the metal with my anky and cryopod it with all the metal in my diplo
Better not stand near a cliff around these guys, trust me I learned the hard way.
They are unique. The only dino that has the playful nature, the only dino that can be tamed in any way, ect.
They pose little damage because they don't do damage. Just be careful around cliffs as they do inflict knock back, and may knock you off of a cliff, or toward a dangerous dinosaur
Whoever said tame by standing between (or just behind) front legs, is very much right! Just be careful not to get attacked or let it get attacked by some other raptor or something. Reset the tame meter.
KEEP IN MIND! If you dare to breed these... the babies eat TONS of berries QUICKLY! Put probably a couple thousand berries in its inventory and it might last you a bit...
