What are tips for diplodocus? Tips and strategies for diplodocus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
I had no idea what I was up against when I started taking right by the ocean. I jumped at the same time that it pushed me...... I went flying into a swarm of jellyfish.
Note that right after you feed him a berry he stops playing for a bit so he get more berries then
Don't underestimate this dino's usefulness. It may not do damage but it's knock back is very useful for holding off raiders. If your base is near a cliff you can knock players and dinos off it. Another thing is that diplos actually do trample damage. This means that it can kill small creatures like bugs, dodos, and compies by walking in them. In addition there is no level requisite to tame it, so it colud be the first dino you tame.
It is also a KO tame, but it takes like 3x longer though
If you get just behind the front legs then the diplodocus can’t push you back so you can tame easy
I don’t know if this is normal or not but my diplo Whiplash is the only creature in all my history of playing ark that is tamed and has wandering off and yet remains playful and runs around whenever she feels like. It is the weirdest thing to see her suddenly start frolicking around me in giant circles, swinging her neck and tail at trees and breaking them left and right. So satisfying to watch her tho…first diplo I ever tamed and she’s my favorite pet by far.
From my experience, the male I tamed was aggressive...I just got near it and it hit/attack me, idk if female is the same...these are good when you first start cuz that are a passive tame, and when lvl.32 you can get a saddle
#savethediplos
On The Crystal Isles their basically walking health bags for blood wyverns
Taming these the best trick I learned is load up on Mejo Berries and Chase it's tail. It will spin in circles but this causes it to get hungry significantly faster than just waiting under it, or letting it push you into a rock or cliff or trapping it.
Using the Diplo- the Diplo has a nice use early game in traversing the map. Only large dinos will Aggro the diplodocus allowing you to swim in areas aggressive waterline would kill you. I used mine extensively in the swamp to gather rare flowers, and various seeds as almost nothing attacks them. Seeing as they don't do damage even if you accidentally hit another dino it won't become aggressive. I avoid redwood on them as thylas on the ground can't dismount you, but in the trees they can and will. They are awesome for taming other dinos as you can utilize them in 2 different ways. You can knock out the dino you want to tame, mount the diplo and dismount on top of it don't jump off. Dinos will aggro on you instead of the dino your taming, and you can safely kill them from its back just make sure you don't have your diplo to flee or you'll fall off. Since they don't do damage you can level one up with crazy high heath and send them to attack a large dino, the diplo will keep them occupied without damaging them so taming effectiveness doesn't drop. Since they do knock back on attack it also slows down how fast a dino can kill them. Dinos larger than Carnotaurs will attack you and if you get to close to a tickle chickens it will also attack. Alpha Variants of Raptors and Carnotaurs will not attack the Diplodocus. Early Game they are amazing IMO as they safely open up alot more of the map than any other Dino you can tame and mount at that point.
Needs to do damage. No matter how little.
If u use soothing balm it makes it go faster to get these also to avoid getting yeeted just go under them the AI will just keep pushing but not push u. Like if helpful! 😉
There's a spot right behind it's front legs where you can stand underneath it and it gets stuck in you. You can stand there for the entire passive tame, you just get humoed the whole time
If you have a sino just fly onto its back and then you just sit there and can easily tame as long as nothing attacks it
Question: so why do these guys get mad at you for just walking by I did not hit you at all just let me do my exploring in peace please
Slightly difficult to tame since it yeets you away. I found it easiest to wedge myself in a corner made with two stone foundations. My Dippy was able to keep playing with me and I didn’t go anywhere
Even the Dodo does damage. But no, the diplo, a big sauropod does no damage whatsoever!
This guy is extremely good for titan taming I breed high level diplos level up nothing but health give them saddles and make them attack the titan. Since the diplos don’t do damage they distract the titan and make you able to destroy the corruption spot without difficulties this does not work with desert or king titan but the forest and ice titan yes
Go under the belly and they cant push you back. Or you can set a tamed animal on follow and passiv and it pushes the tamed animal not you
