The Orinthian Knight: The Broodmother’s Awakening P5

Dilo stood at the edge of a crowd of both survivors and creatures alike, all staring and cheering at a somewhat familiar circle platform. Just when he thought it couldn’t get any worse, that’s when he recognized the chalicotherum brawling with the iguanadon (that Dilo suspiciously believed was transported from the Island.)

The locals were used to calling the chalicotherum Charcoal? Why? He was an intimidating figure to be reckoned with. One look at his rigid and scarred fur, dark as night, and you would think twice about fighting him. And even Dilo was afraid of Charcoal.

Just right after Dilo was sent on a mission to find the Implant Pyramid, his first destination was the original Island. He tried asking the local survivors for assistance, but none turned their sights on him. Then one day, one survivor had enough of Dilo just walking around on their streets, and sent a huge chalicotherium after him, his fur still retaining the color it had to this day. Dilo had barely survived the encounter, but Charcoal also survived, seeing his attack as a mere warning.

Dilo had dreaded the next time he would see Charcoal again.

“Sir, is everything alright?” Drydunes had asked, his voice with low key concern for the dilophosaur. Thats when Dilo looked away from the battleground and saw a huge poster on the side.

‘Winner who manages to defeat Charcoal gets 100 amber and this exclusive prize’ it stated, and right below the crooked text was the dark, small pyramid, exactly as the Overseer had described…

Dilo knew this was his only chance to retrieve it. “Yes, I am fine, old man. I should go in that ring.” But just as he let his sentence out, the dead body of the iguanadon from earlier came flying towards Dilo and Drydunes’s side. A female survivor in ragged hide cloth, presumably the Dino’s owner, tumbled to the deceased creature, crying openly, mourning its death.

“WHOS NEXT,” Charcoal bellowed, his voice affecting nearly everyone in the ring. Dilo had started to consider whether or not to enter the treacherous battle-scarred platform, yet at last, decided to enter the arena… and presumably to his doom.
