Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a desmodus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a desmodus.
Get some bloodpacks, find a low level, tame it, use it for lots of blood packs then tame a high level, watch out for fall damage so bring parachutes
If you're using forcetame, don't let it grab you first as it drops the taming efficacy immediately and so you'll only get 192's instead of 225's assuming standard max difficulty settings.
These can be a early game tame, just get lvl 74 to get the saddle by how ever you want, then tame a pt and get blood bags as you do it, also make the saddle while you are there. Then fly to the area where they spawn( about 90 lat, 70 lon) , enter the cave and tame a high lvl or low lvl, depending on how many blood bags you have.
Hope this helped!
Plan on dying, prepare for the worst. Make sure you have a ton of sleeping bags placed nearby, also bring parachutes to reduce the chance of death. Good luck!
Bring grappling hooks or parachutes
Best way tame a low level get a lot of blood packs get a high level they upgrade easy just use the red things there’s like 200 of them but they have night vision and invisibly one of the best tames ever, they are the best for stealing wyven eggs just go invisible and activate night vision grab a egg fly up then dive and turn invisible again because the wyvens will shoot fire and stuff and when you get hit your invisibility will go away hence why you have to fly up then dive

Can’t wait to tame this, probably will need blood packs considering it is probably something like a vampire bat. So that being said make sure you have lots of tribe mates with high health ;)
Just found out the hard way. You don't need blood packs in your inventory to tame. I was ambushed by a desmodus and it's taming meter was still going up just from draining my characters health.
Tame a low lvl desmodus before you find a high level farm up minimally 40 bloodpacks and then farm more after the low lvl tame to get a high level and let it suck blood from tamed dinos i prefer dire wolfs or daedons so the taming effectiveness goes up and you dont lose a lot of lvls
As of right now, you only need to have bloodpacks IN your inventory, they do not have to be in the last slot of your hotbar. I accidentally tamed several when a low-level culling went wrong whilst I had packs on me.
All you need is Blood packs and parachutes.. let the bat pick you then when it goes to drop you, deploy a parachute and slowly fall down. The bat will then continue to pick you and suck your blood without dropping you from the sky
When trying to summon remember to put an underscore C at the end before the number
Works similar to bloodstalker, effectiveness raises off sacrificed creatures. They dont need to die so Use high health tames to boost effectiveness then blood packs for taming. Recommend pheromone darts as they have a tendency to fly super high and not come back down at least in the Vardiland cave.
Enter a cave and Go in slowly.. Then drop down a Bloodpack until one of the Bats fly down and Drink the blood from it and will slowly get tamed and if it doesn’t fully tame it it shall fly back up and go back to sleep
If the bat is optimally trapped with the moscops in a short cave so it can't easily lose aggro, it will take around 45 seconds per grab cycle. With a lvl 150, you have to do this 100 times, so with a perfectly run perfect tame, it will take around an hour and a half
A 150 gets about .5% effectiveness each time it grabs the moschops. So it takes 100 times of it picking it up to get up to 100% effectiveness
Ok ok,screw passive taming, you should drop meat and wear gillie armor or you can knock it out, that’s just my idea.
sorry if that’s shitty.
I have heard this can pick things up and I think they live in big hollow trees 🪵
Oh god this is going to be absolutely amazing
I’m gonna tame this first >:)
