Tips & Strategies

What are tips for desmodus? Tips and strategies for desmodus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
I think U should be able to set it to two different attacks when ur not on it (like the pegomastix)
Normal: it will attack normally, it will already be on this setting when first tamed. It might fly around and bite enemies like a dimorph
Blood sucking: when you set it to this ur bat will attempt to latch on to your target and slowly drain the blood wile decreasing stamina and health and raising the topor. You can call use it to knock a high health Dino, lower health Dino’s will die. It will ALWAYS be slower to kill a target than normal attack but if u are targeting a lone creature with high attack it would be better because after latching on, much like the leach, can not be taken off unless by a third party. If u get latched onto….idk however u get the blood stalker to let go then just do that maybe lol
If they add this it would be sooooo cool cuz u can FINALY get a knockout flyer! I def think that the bats should be able to suck blood after tame like the blood stalker but not be FULLY dependent on it for food. Maybe they would eat chitin?

If your ever on the swamp island on fjordur be careful these flickers despite being cave creature can and will either spawn out of nowhere or rise from the ground grab you off your mount and Frick you up and then you'll get jumped by the entirety of pandora so either keep blood bags on hand or just be very observant
Make atleast 35 packs today I just tamed a lvl 150 with only 34-35 packs maybe it was starving.
To tame them I went with a tribe member we put a bed outside of their cave in case one of us died, had a tribe member on a strong flyer and we would shoot one with a dart let it pick up the member on foot and they will get blood packs and tame themselves then other tribe member on flyer would make sure to kill off the other wild Dino’s to keep tribe member on foot and new tames alive. Then do it again and again walked out with like 5 new bats hope this helped
This has a 3d version in fjordur now! Someone broke its ankles though.
Idk anyways a quote by someone lol
Can you tame a 145 with 23 packs... I swear l've seen someone do it.
I used a lot less blood packs than what was recommended here and it was a level 100
Do yourself a favor and tame a DAEODON and use it to get the taming effectiveness up. They are MUCH more effective than Moschops. Daeodon increases the TE by 5 or 6 percent for each time the Desmodus picks them up.
Advantages:
Can go invisible at night or when hanging (great for trying to steal wyvern eggs and then dying)
Can hang on walls (honestly completely op ability)
Gets blood packs from hit
Can make a liquid in inventory to get 30% tame progress and effectiveness when eaten next to a tame for 200 blood packs
Night vision (self flash bang)
Can hold creatures and when life sucking mode is turned on it deals pinching damage
Can fly (wow original)
Screech which locates creatures in view range
Disadvantages:
Ugly as all hell

Breeding. You can use Blood Packs to feed babies (and provides more food than meat.) The cool down timer is not the problem, the problem is render distance. Whether is game mechanic or bug, the babies will not eat blood packs when you leave render.
Solution - put raw meat and blood on meawing if your coming and going. If your staying, but blood. If your leaving tons of RAW meat. They will not eat cooked
