Tips & Strategies

What are tips for desmodus? Tips and strategies for desmodus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Try trapping it with a tame if you’re having a problem of it flying too high up to aggro onto it.
Build a big cage by the cave. Bring the one you want into it. Have high health deaodons on passive healing and food. Sit back and watch there effectiveness go up. Super easy
Use tek pistol on heal mode to increase taming efficiency to 100%
Level up Health in a moschops and have it pick up the moschops instead of you to gain taming efficiency, use high ceiling argy trap to trap them and toss a moschops in it with blood packs on moschops inventory.
Best tamed with a daeodon - due to the larger health pool vs other creatures they can pick up
block the entrance of the waterfall cave with stone doorways. you can run in, lead them to the entrance, they get stuck but you can look at them and kill the low levels you dont want, then use a cryopod to throw in your moshops and watch its effectiveness with the tame tracker. if theres more than one bat, both will take turns draining the moschops, but it will not change the effectiveness. practice running out the cave, theres a specific path to get out without getting stuck on the ground.
Okay, this is how I tame these guys.
1. I go into the cave of Desmodus behind the waterfall in the spawn map.
2. I spyglass them and look at their levels.
3. I will then net projectile (or if you can, kill) the lower level Desmodus.
4. I kite the high level or desired Desmodus out of the cave before the others become unprojectiled.
5. I cryopod my Dino I used to kite it out. (Or you can use the glider skin, if you know how to use it!)
6. I let it pick me up and let the taming begin!!
Hope this helps you!!! Good luck on getting a Desmodus
Use a high level health daeodon after 21:00h. Their efficiency goes up faster!!!
While taming the bat take lots of parachutes, blood packs, and sleeping bags :) also when the taming bar gets to (70+ %) let it drop you to your death and take any tame you have (full of blood packs)(can be carried by the bat) put on passive and wandering and kite the bat to your tame and watch the taming effectiveness go up to 100% then put the potion (blood potion) in your hot bar and spam it until it gets close enough to pick you and it will finish the tame! 😏👍
If you feed it a small herbivore (moschops works well) before or during taming the taming effectiveness will stay up more. Up
As far as I can tell, the sanguine elixer they produce can NOT have its spoil timer extended by placing in a creatures inventory, a persevering bin, or a fridge. It can't even be placed in a fridge. It might work with preserving salt, but I don't have the resources to test that just yet
They can have different speed stats when tamed, it seemed random but they can have upwards of 285.5%!
It can only harvest meat and spoiled meat from bodies. Even if you’re harvesting Tek Dino’s. Everytime you attack a Dino, you gain some blood packs. It can fly backwards, hang on walls, has night vision which can only be activated at night. You can turn stealth only at night or if you’re on a wall, it’ll let you be stealth during the day. I haven’t found much use for the screech yet.
I have found multiple of these guys all over the map. The place I saw the most was on the swamp island near the right side of the island.
When taming it make sure to feed it blood packs, whenever you are close to taming it (70-80%) try to escape then just like the blood stalker you need to let it eat a tame (moschops work the best) when trying to get it to pick you up make sure to move around. And finally whenever you get 100% effectiveness using a couple well leveled moschops youll be able to finish the tame and get a 100% effectiveness bat
They can be found in caves around the map while for me they also spawn in and around the blue ob although while taming they can’t be trapped they need an open space
