This bat deserves a tek saddle, it is a better tapejara

The Sanguine Elixir can’t be used while swimming, so using it to tame under water dinos is pretty limited. But for imprinting on a baby, you can lead the baby up the the surface and than lower foundations into the water to get a platform to stand on.

If you are entering a cave you know has these keep blood packs in you hotbar, they will take those instead of dealing damage to you. Plus you might accidentally tame it and have something to help distract the other desmodus

List of desmosdus abilities

Invisibility at night and when latching or hanging

Able to latch onto to walls and the bottom of rocks

Night vision (has to be toggled)

Screech/echolocation to find creatures

Blood harvesting

You can craft sanguine elixir in saddle using 200 blood

Grab onto small Dino’s and players

Ps. Sanguine elixir is used to up a knocked out carnivores tame bar by 30%

To tame it I would recommend a moschops so when the bat picks it up taming effectiveness is boosted when you have 100% effectiveness let it grab you and I recommend have ATLEAST 100 blood packs, more would be recommended for higher levels. Once all that is done you should have a brand new desmodus draculae!

They seem to gather a lot of spoiled meat when killing Dino’s (it might just be the server I’m on but still)

Fair word of warning, if you get knocked out of your grapple (my experience was a ceiling grapple) before the animation fully completes, then the mounted camera will get stuck in the position that the desmodus should be in. A simple re-log will fix it

I went to the wyrven trench and stole a lvl 170 egg, almost got taken out, but the desmodus ate 40 blood packs from its inventory and saved itself from death, I didn't feed it myself. I haven't seen this anywhere before.

If you let it feed on a smaller creature multiple times, IE a maschops with good health, it raises the taming effectiveness before taming it. Bring a snow owl to keep the maschops healed. Takes patience but gets you higher levels

i love this thing. it's basically a small griffin and it's very good for pvp because not only can you grab people off tames, it also damages them. you need to tame one!

Similar to the bloodstalker you'll need to sacrifice a tame in order to raise the taming effectiveness. I suggest bringing a moschops since it's the biggest thing it can carry. Bring two just in case, and once it reaches 100% lure it away from the moschops and let it carry you and feed on you or the bloods packs in you.

Baby Desmoduses go through meat very fast.

Cooked Prime is always great as it restores alot of food for little weight and low spoil timers.

With the Desmodus, they can eat bloodpacks for 200+ food, and the packs weigh almost nothing.
