best way to kill a death worm is to get a decent level thyla with 3k health and 200 percent melee and then just keep hitting it with your bleed and it will eventually die.

They aren’t too powerful if you have something like a deinonychus or a good allosaurus or wolf with good melle. Don’t panic when you see one unless your on foot.

If you are in single player you can see them for a split second not under the sand once in render range. If you have an imprint multiplier for your game set to 20 a 100% imprinted direwolf should suffice. Flying (cheat/command) also has the speed needed to quickly spot them render in. This does depend on hardware and device, I am using a gaming laptop for that with the game in an external hard drive. On another note most I have encountered seem to stay in one area for a small amount of time once rendered in before disappearing.

Use Sword and a mastercraft shield. Block worm's attack, then attack it twice and put your shield up quickly for worm's next attack. Rinse lather repeat. If you get knocked back too far the sword won't hit. Maintain push towards the worm to stay close while shielding. Practice the timing. When looking for them. Go on foot. They will find you. When u see a dust circle on ground in front, put your shield up for worm's surprise attack and jus keep up the pattern I mentioned. You can it twice after every block. That's how its done on foot.

You can find easier to kill variants of the death worm in the second part of the iceworm cave on Ragnarok, you get around 10-20 deathworms in the full cave, besides from the boss deathworm which drops 20 deathworm horns. You can pretty easily run the cave for it’s amazing drops and deathworm loot solo, bring a metal or riot shield and a good shotgun (you can 2-shot deathworms with a 230% damage ascendant pump), the cave also has a ton of crystal (around 6000 Crystal in the whole cave, tested in creative mode)

Deathworms also drop leach blood

Look megatheriam sorry if I spelt it wrong , are so good at killing death worms but have to live near a desert or fly it to the desert wyverns work just as well with no casualties but thunder wyverns are better mine killed a death worm in one blast it deals 546 damage per tick if you just get on it is likely not to do more than 100 damage per tick but that alone in total is like 3000 damge tip mine hatched from a level 280 egg get stronger eggs

I kill them flawlessly with a primitive RPG with 2-3 rockets and an argy with 10k health and 1k melee damage,be careful not to shoot the argies with the rockets.
