If you are on Ragnarok and can't find a cat, go to the swamp castle. They are always there at the bottom.

Watch for the poison wyverns flying over the castle.

Don’t go near it if it has a red logo it will ATTACK!!!

Ride to the cat on a argy or some kind of flying mount that can attack. Stay on it and go over to the cat while flying. If you dismount it and the cat has a red logo above you... FLY! it will attack your face and try to kill you. You cannot ignore it

If it has a yellow logo above it that means you can't tame it and it will attack you IF you get close. If it has a green logo you can tane it. You will need to pur raw prime meat in your last hot bar spot and feed the cat slowly. Keep on feeding it and it is normal for the cat to run away, if it does then just chase it. Hope this helps all the newcomers (sorry it was so long, easier done than said)

The second region slot tells you the pattern of the cat:

Blue (2) - Calico Cat

Green (3) - Bengal Cat (Leopard/Stripe pattern)

Yellow (4) - Tabby Cat

Red (1) - Siamese Cat (Solid Colors, no patterns)

NOTE When you encounter one, Make sure there’s a green Dino head above it; Meaning it’s totally passive. Yellow/Orange: You get too close, they’ll bite and scratch your face off. Red: If you get anywhere this kind of creature, STAY AWAY! They’ll Rip your face off if you get anywhere near you.

Is you’re being scratched apart by a cat, Walk into water, it’ll let go.

On Ragnarok, you know where blue ob is in the empty area where you find all the velociraptors they’ll be a cat around there. Hope this helps.

Seriously all these new tips being posted with saying bring it to the water to tame it, try it first before you waste peoples time. YOU CAN NOT BRING IT TO WATER TO TAME IT ANYMORE! Unless my server is just bugged. Someone try it and let me know….

Wildcard patched being able to bring them to water to tame. It's just to stop it from scratching you. You can also punch them to get them to come off, bolas don't seem to work once they're latched onto you (maybe a tribemate can do it for you).

From what we've tried you can't tame them even if they have the yellow symbol, and just had to kill any of them that don't have the green symbol. They all just say "This cat doesn't want to be tamed by you". Bring a friend/tribemate to better the odds of them liking one of you since they like different people. It seems to be much like the IRL "cat distribution system".

Also had better luck with spawns on The Island as opposed to The Center, not sure about Astraeos.

If it starts hissing, DO NOT GO NEAR IT, because if you do, it will latch onto you, biting and scratching until you die, the only way to get it off is to go in water

Full ghillie and cactus broth to make murder mittens not rip your face off sneak up on them passive tame. They are able to breed and clone.

Why does it drink wyvern milk? Surely that isnt healthy for it, right?

If you throw it at a titanosaurs head the titanosar can’t hit it and the cat will kill a titanosaur. Rassclark did it.

Bison milk works too! Just as good as wyvern milk.

If it dies you can CONSUME the death essence to bring it back to life without a oasisaurus!

Use prime fish(get by killing larger salmon and harvest with a pick or preferably sickle) also can get from sharks with the same tools

On Val you can find them at lat 76.9 and long 73.3 at the cat shrine and in the grassy area in front of of it.

Keep in mind, bringing it to the water to tame it is now patched. LOOK IT UP BEFORE YOU DO IT PLEASE! Also they may have changed it back, but it still doesn't work at the time of this post.
