Toss a lightpet on the ground, put a metal foundation over it , switch it to block.

Drop all eggs on foundation

Lure basilisk to it

These will eat dragon eggs or other types of eggs really any types of eggs I found out that the hard way the really really hard way I had to feed it The highest level dragon egg thanks to my Dad told me that,Thank you dad.!!!!!

I am posting a kewl, neat, or useful use for each and every tame in ASE, not the cash grab made by a certain molusk… anyways let’s get on with it.

The basalisk is a tame that I personally have never used but would like to in sometime. I love farming and caving, quite possibly the two least liked things in ark but I love them. And the basalisk has the 9th best base weight stat currently so it is great for farming. It has the best weight reduction for stone at 75% which is the same as the doedic but the big snake is faster and has a better overall weight stat. The basalisk is good for more than just grinding on pve, if you are a PvP chump and are into that you can use them greatly for defense in a raid. The taming process is not have as bad as it seems, just trap it in a 4x6 stone trap WITH FLOORS and lure it in with either a ramp or dino gate and throw fertilized wyvern eggs (level doesn’t matter so grab any egg you see in the trench) magmasaur and drake eggs work as well. Drop the eggs in the trap and watch it happen.

Rock Drake eggs must be dropped from PLAYER'S inventory, not mounted Dino's. Otherwise, basilisk will not eat egg

When it is underground it does use stamina which means it can not be underground permanently, it is extremely fast when it is underground and untargetable, and when underground it will be blocked by structures such as, walls, foundations, rocks, etc.

Seems like raising a rock drake 1st will help you tame these. 1st raise a drake. 2nd collect a bunch of rock drake eggs. 3rd find a basilisk and while riding the cloaked drake drop the eggs one by one and it will eat them.

Be careful riding this thing underground. You will have your oxygen drain and begin suffocating if you are under too long.

Getting it to eat the egg is pretty easy, just throw an egg on the ground, then get close enough to it (maybe on a fast tame) for it to come out of the ground. Run away towards the egg with the basilisk following you, and then keep running until out of targeting range. Heading behind a giant rock or metal plate helps. Once the basilisk stops following you, it’s will head directly over to the egg and eat it! I got two basilisks this way today :D 🆙 if helpful :)

This guy takes a mass amount of fall damage, so be very careful when climbing.

Newest patch confirms taming on genesis with Magmasaur eggs!

Actually the Basilisk only eats Rock Drake fertilized eggs. The wiki says that it should also eat other fertilized eggs, but currently it ignore them. Probably it's a bug, for now feed it Rock Drake eggs

I tamed it by using a bloodstalker, simply climbed a wall above it (where it couldn’t spit acid at me) and threw magma eggs down to it. Make sure the area is clear of anything it could Target

Ok, listen up they can spawn in the portal area. It killed me and friends about 10 minutes in the dlc. It just spawned in our faces.

They can now be tamed in Genesis 2 using Voidwyrm Eggs!!!
