Simply make a trap using pillars and ceiling and make the pillars spaced in a way that pteranodons can barely fit through it.. fly through it close a door on them and tame

Build a 2 high pen with a roof. Get it to chase you in then run out a door in the back and close a dino gate on it. Then tranq. It can damage wood but it should last long enough.

Best way to tame is to build a small cage with pillar walls that it can’t fit out of but you can (add roof). Make sure to add in a dino gate so that it can get in. Once it’s in, close the gate and run out. Tranq it from the outside but careful not to kill it!

Ok the best way to tame one for the least amount of resource is to get it to chase u then run in circles. Also aim for the head to minimise waste.

Lure it to a safe spot then shoot it down otherwise u r dead

Its possible to tranq it out with out a taming pen. I did it with just a crossbow and a pteradon. I shot it a few times in the head and kept distance by flying away until it started to run away. Then i followed it and shot it and so on until it was down. In a taming pen it would be easier but if you want to do it without i wish you good luck. I tamed 2 100+ with ease my way at the same time.

To trap one, build a box with a Dino gate, must be stone or the argy will damage it. Put in a ceiling but leave one out. Your ptera can fit through that, the argy can't.

Try to build a trap or cage to tame it peacefully, also it's better to use them for attack and long journeys because of its stamina and better attack compared to the pteradon. It's better to use them for taming because of the size,weight,and better stats, it can also (if maxed leveled) be one of your most reliable companions.

If on prim+ you can use raw poultry to tame, you can make stacks of 50. Its effectiveness is a little below raw prime. Easy way to tame when you first start.

Good luck stealing a wyvern egg! IT is possible after the nerf, but your argy will die. (Make a stone hut near the trench, steal the egg, Quick jump into it, and wait for wyvern to despawn)

Lure it on volcano and it get stuck at the metalnodes so u can tame and farm

Run and straff towards there feet so they cant hit you.

My first argi was a level 5 but if you get them noked out it's easy just hit it a few times with a trank arrow and bam it's out cold then it takes little amounts of food and narckhos if low level

If taming near the large mountain in the middle of the map lure them up and knock them out cuz they get stuck on the rocks easily

If playing with a friend, pick 'em up with a Ptera while flying away from the Argy after aggroin' and have them shoot away until he doubles back, once the argy is fleeing, catch up to it and hover over it while your friend tranqs it to keep them from friendly firing your ptera, also keep an eye on that stamina meter while keeping the argh from flying over water or hostile environments.

Arrows to the head go a long way when trying to kill these guys. This also goes for taming.

Argentavis can be used for a early game weight bird to transport metal and other times and can be used good in some battles.

A good trap for these guys are a 1x1 foundation with double doors and a ceiling make sure the double doors are 2-3 high so that way the argy will actually fly in leave one side open and then kite the bird in and then close it with walls and it's an easy KO

Do not use longbow on this guy. I don’t know why you would use longbow but that would kill him. I once tried that because I thought it was the normal bow and I didn’t have my longneck with me so I shot him and he died.
