Watch out when taming argies because they prevelently fly over shark-infested waters, just to get away. And you don't want your level 130 argy getting knocked out in the middle of the ocean

It easy to tame one of these beasts all you have to do is just tank it with a

few darts,It should be knocked out quickly just make sure you have a LOT

of narcotic with you

All you have to do is hop over to ragnarok get horse and lasso, lasso it and drag it to a taming pen

When knocking out,place 3 dino gates along each other but not connected. Place gates on each side and lure it in. Then lock the gates on each side so the argy is secure and then fire away with Frank's.😁

The Argentavis is one of my top favorite creatures in ARK. These flying beauties have a 50 percent weight reduction on many items such as stone and metal, which makes them good rss traveling packs. So, let's see how to tame these creatures!

1. GET PREPARED. Items like Tranquilizing ARROWS, BOWS, RIFLES, and DARTS are how you will knock the argentavis out. Make sure to have a pack of RAW MEAT or PRIME MEAT meat with you. If you are capable of making SUPERIOR KIBBLE for this creature, it is best you do so.

2. KNOW YOUR SURROUNDINGS! This part of the taming is one of the most ESSENTIAL while taming anything. It is best to tame a flyer in OPEN, FLAT AREAS or just where it is NOT DENSLY POPULATED WITH OTHER HOSTILE CREATURES.

3. BUILD A TRAP. Any type of LARGE AVIAN like the Argentavis can be trapped by using 4 STONE DINOSAUR GATES and 2 DINOSAUR GATE DOORS. Place them next to eachother as if you were making a large cage. Make a SMALL GAP enough for YOU to FIT THROUGH, but not the ARGENTAVIS to fit through.

4. FIND AN ARGENTAVIS. Once you have built your trap, look for an argentavis you would like to have. Don't worry if the ancient bird is far away from the cage. LURE the Argentavis to it by GOING UP TO IT and INCH AWAY AS IT FOLOWS YOU. TRY NOT TO GET HIT.

5. TRAP IT. Now that the Argentavis is close enough to the trap, OPEN ONE OF THE GATES for the bird to follow you through. CLOSE THE GATE right before the future tame is inside.

6. TRANQ CALCULATION. Depending on the LEVEL you want to tame, you may need more powerful or less powerful tools to knock it out.

Level 1-50: Can use a slingshot or tranq arrows and narco berries (BRING EXTRA stones or arrows beyond the argentavis level IN CASE YOU MISS)

Level 51-150: Use Tranq arrows or Tranquilizing darts with narcotics (Made in SMITHY and used with a LONGNECK RIFLE)

Level 150-200: Tranq arrows or Tranquilizing darts with narcotics and bio toxin (From the electric jellyfish)

Level 201 and above: Use Tranquilizing darts ONLY with narcotics and bio toxin. Using a bow with tranq arrows are ENOUGH TO KILL the high level creature bc the TORPOR WILL BE HIGHER and you may bring the birds health DOWN TO ZERO before it PASSES OUT.

Once you have done all this, put some meat or kibble in their inventory and soon enough, that bird will be yours! The argentavis saddle is unlocked at level 62, but before that you can use it as a guardian and a resource carrier for you when collecting stuff. They can be used in battle too, with an advantage of flight by attacking their victims from above. Once these fellas eat a carcass left over, they gain an effect that will boost their health and regenerates rapidly if hit by something (BOOST LASTS FOR 15 SECONDS). If you have made it this far, then nice! You now know how to make an argy army!

Argy trap (also works for griffin):

Takes 4 stone gate frames, one reinforced gate, and 3 stone pillars. Pick a spot that is flat and also away from any predators, including compy and dilo. Face going the same way you plan to fly them in, so that gate opens in. Place first frame then slowly walk forward until the frame isn't snapping at weird angles and place it, this gets the spacing right. After placing 4th frame, put pillar right in the middle of it, then stack the other 2. Now walk backwards until you can place the gate in the first frame, I place a torch out front a ways to locate more easily. You now have a perfect Argy trap.

Using pteranodon, agro the Argy then lead in low and slow, opening the gate when you reach it. Pteranodon can slip right through but Argy cannot. Land and hop off, while Argy stays agro on your mount, run back and close the gate.

For taming, shoot with tranqs to partially torpor, sleep, then KO, balm, and rapid tame with raw prime meat (stego is my goto).

A trick I used early on in the game is with a paracer. Have it on pacive and stand under it. Most if the time the argie won't be able to fly under it, and even if it does it will be a while before it manages to again.

Use wooden gates the argentavis does little damage

Captain fattdog has a cheap and easy to build trap. Also feeding an argy just before you knock it out drops its food by alot

You can put an argie trap on a raft for ludicrously easy taming. Just remember to build it off to the side a little.

You can make a trap by puting five gate way and puting a door in the first one and in the last one. Then you make him follow you into the trap and you close the doors. You can get out of the trap by the spaces between the gates. And you just tame it in the trap.

If you have a trap(one with a ramp into and dinogate out) put temporary roofs on top and lead in through dinosaurs gate(be sure to close it once its in) then tame at your will.

Use a bow. First one fully charges Rhen shot many not charged until it flees and hit it whit fully charged arrow. It works for me in creative.

The insta tame method doesn't work anymore, I tried may 11th 2020 and I did exactly as said and it didn't work. It was a female lvl 65 and when it was knocked out it stayed asleep. I even waited until it woke up and she wasn't tamed.

I have just recently tamed one of these thing and they are ridiculous! Step one: if you are a high level get a long neck with tranq darts if you are a low level get a crossbow or a normal bow and get about fifteen arrows for taming. If you know where a snow area is than go there, but if you don’t than listen there is a peninsula that has a spino spawn as you get to a higher level once you are in the center of the peninsula (not in the water at the forest line) you will head up and go LEFT but do NOT go inland on the rivers just follow the coastline I recommend getting a few raptors or a baryonix because you might need to defend your unconscious argy once you are in a sighting distance from the snow you might see an argy or two flying around. But whatever you do there is one danger to this taming scorpions and hiuenas I recommend not attacking those and from a distance shoot at the argy and lure it away from the hiuenas and the scorpions and then nock it out. Me and my friend used two cooked prime meat to tame this however it was a level one it was still awesome. ATTENTION PLEASE READ AFTER TAME head back to the peninsula but before you go to fare down the coastline there will be a massive tree with two stone arches with and explorers note if you have a saddle ride your argy onto the not and my lvl one got eight levels and we beefed him up our character even got an entire level even though we are like level eighty if you liked this tip please tap on the arrow pointing towards the sky

So to make a argy trap that I think is best is make 4 dino gates made of stone and not behemoth then make 2 reinforced doors then once u do that then place the dino gates 1 foot away from eachother then place the 2 reinforced doors at the end and run through there with argy run through the side and close the back door boom u got a argy
