Drag corpses to it if you want to tame it but it’s low health. They heal ridiculously fast when eating corpses.

Their saddle is a smithy. Let everyone know.

For anyone that just got or is going to get one I shall add you should find a completely white Argy, then use paint an mix it with potent dust (2-3 dust or it won’t show) then put it into the inventory, remote feed a few times and then you’ve got yourself a colorful argy (you can make potent dust at the Morter and Tesle using amber)

How to tame an argentavis:

A lot of people like to build traps for this, but I just don’t get why

Materials:

A high level pt or another good health Dino if u have cryopods.

A bow or crossbow. Doing the hunt dilo mission will give u a good bow and I use it instead of crossbow.

40 tranqs is enough for crossbow

Process:

1. Find a high level argy

2. Feed it until full health with corpses

3. Use your tanky Dino to tank while you shoot the argy. If the argy’s about to die lead it to a corpse and it regens insanely fast.

4. Leave prime in its inventory. U do not need narcs but if u tame on normal meat then bring some narcs.

Uses:

Super useful weight reductions on I think metal crystal and other late game high tech stuff.

Carries medium-sized animals such as doedic anky and beaver so u can farm with them.

Has high damage and great stamina.

Looks very cool basically collect on the island.

This is for the ark mobile players (including myself) before taming anything I recommend sleeping in a simple bed before knocking out the creature you're gonna tame because it helps and I mean it HELPS alot with decreasing the food of the creature

If in the event you are unfortunate enough (like me!) to be chased by a wyvern while you’re on your Argy and can’t escape and fighting is the only option, circle around the wyvern as tightly as you can so it can’t use a breath attack on you. Keep as close to it as possible and keep hitting that attack button. However you should only do this if your bird is a high level and has decent stamina, health and melee. Otherwise, gtfo if possible. I just got jumped by a lv. 190 lighting wyvern and I have no idea how my bird and I survived. Quetz is a very good boi and killed the wretched thing. Argies are best flying mounts, change my mind.

I currently have 2 of these, once’s name is Merlin and the other is Bucky cause why not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They are absolutely fantastic mounts are are probably the most useful in the game so far. I’d recommend getting one fairly early on in the game cause I love them and they’re great to have around.

Make a pen 6x2 dino gateway and a couple of rows of doorsways (no doors),leave one wall tile out. Get Argi to follow you back to pen on pteranadon stop at pens gateway,wait for Argi to hit you fly out missing wall tile straight ahead (at a sprint speed otherwise you'll get stuck), once out park bird right infront of Argi....run round and close gate. Better to build this just out front of base incase it goes to attack dinos but also makes it a nice close and safe tame. Good luck

Argys aré one of the best tames, they can pick up anky's (who have like, Weight reduction on metal and obsidian if im not wrong) and be used to farm metal like crazy.

If on aberration, karkinos Is also good because It can pick two anky's and farm metal like crazy x2 whit the con of Weight and not being a flyer.

Argys aré pretty tanky and great fighters.

Theire saddle also permits them to be flying small bases due to It being a forge.

Theyre quite easy tames due to not being fast and because if theire dying you can feed them any corpse.

A trap made out of four-five wooden/stone normal Gates, two doors for these and placed infront of each other wide enough to be passed trought by you or a small tame like a raptor and you'll have one in no time.

Kill an alpha carno which can be found near the volcano and you get a bunch of prime mean, knock out the argy then bam give it all the prime meat and it’s so quick

If theres water nearby you dont need any traps or anything like that. Just keep going in and out of the water because the arge cant hit you if your in the water. (You can only use a crossbow because it can shoot underwater)

Bring a crossbow if not a bow or tek bow and lots of metal arrows if you can’t afford it then a lot of arrows if it doesn’t work out ride something fast or flying

YOO GUYS I think I just made up my own Argy trap randomly from meh brain :O Its cheap, it works well even on mountains.

I used this for trap testing:

1. A Stone Foundation

2. 2 Stone Ceilings

3. 4 Stone Railings

4. 2 Stone Pillars

After building the trap I got attention of an Argentavis and I run trough the entrance of the trap and put 1 railing behind it and BOOM. It worked lol

Quick easy tame for beginner players, make a trap with dino gates and its game on

to the person who said that dodo kibble took to long ur wrong actually an argy does not eat dodo kibble it eats meat and stego kibble

Definitely must have tame when playing on The Island, get a decent one and you should be good for combat and transport.

If you already tamed this it could a Smithy alternative

A Jack-Of-All-Trades, the argentav(is) a must have 😉. It has a 50% weight reduction on metal, crystal, AND obsidian. With an Amazing weight and melee stat, after a while you can make up for it's snail's-pace by putting the rest of its levels into speed. For a trap, look up "Captain Fatdog Argy Trap" CF is an amazing tutor for dino traps galore! Signed -Mantyll

Mobile Argy Taming Guide:

Step 1. Go to the top of the volcano and start to make a trap out of either; 3 stone dino gates + 2 reinforced/normal dino doors

Step 2. Get a pteranodon + saddle and find ur argy, attack the argy so that it will follow you (argys have bad following distance to u may need to attack more then once) once its followed tou to top of volcano lead it into you trap, once in close the gates and get a good distance away from it so it dosent attack.

Step 3. Make a tiny box house place a bed or sleeping bag into it and sleep, after u wake up start to tranq the argy, when asleep the argy will have no food in so put ur meat inside the argy and it shouldnt take a while to tame, once done u have ur very own argy!

Extra Tip. If u get a breeding pair breed them at the top of the volcano since it will only require 1-3 torchesto incubate, once fully grown the original female will be ready to mate again!

The saddle level should be lower. I am not a very skilled player and I could have been flying with one of these 20 engram levels ago
