I’m the guy who made the list of utility tames, I just want to say that I wrote that doedics take increased torpor when they’re in a ball, that was a typo, they take much less torpor.

These creatures are the best for getting metal and other resources you would with a pickaxe.

If you’re on ASA remember to always set it to harvest the rescource you need you can do this by going to harvest settings selecting harvest only and choosing flint, stone, or metal. This way you will not have to dump any stone when on flint or metal runs and be able to gather much more before your argy/anky is over weight. Hope this helps the beach bobs

There was a island on the island south east of the main island I called it anky island because it was the first spot I saw an anky

Transport advice:

Get an argy with decent weight and stamina. It has an ability that allows it to carry the anky (Yes, it still counts the weight the ankys carrying to its weight)

THE ANKY HAS 85% WEIGHT REDUCTION ON METAL AND NOTHING ELSE. Make sure stuff like obsidian, stone, and crystal are loaded onto the argy because it has a 50% weight reduction on those.

Sadly the anky does not have the ability to swing at rocks when held by an argy in Ark ultimate mobile edition(though for some reason the doed does have it). But they are still very good for gathering metal and other stuff! One way í do it is bro grabbing the anky with my argy, or just putting it in a cryopod. Then, I go to a metal-rich rock and manually gather the metal. It is still quite the same thing and it will still guarantee a ton of metal. Hope this tip helped!!

Grab him with argentav or quetz, if u r not patience enough with their speed. (Dont be dumb like me who travelling from redwood to snow biome for obsidian with only riding this guy) damn.... Im so nub XD

With the recent update Ankylo can hold four times the metal because it weighs less as long as it's in ankylo 's inventory. So 100 metal will weigh 25lbs instead of 100. Also tamed Anky will have more speed than usual. Happy farming ^__^ -Geo

You can carry these things with Argentavis, Like so other people can see.

If you are playing on the Island, don't waste your time looking for one on the mountains or in the redwood forest.

Just go to Herbivore Island, the safest spot to find both ankylosaurs and metal (the resource they are so good at gathering)!!!

It looks like it has a very thick and spiky armour on its back, so some people might try to shoot it in the face, legs, or the underbelly. But here’s the truth, YOU DON’T HAVE TO! They have no torpor/damage reduction if a projectile hits their armour so shoot all you want on him. When they are running away, just shoot their back. Hope this helped and wish y’all a great day.

Just back up with a lot of rocks and with at least 4 different slingshots (of taming a level 95-155) and start shooting at it that's what I do

For a low lvl player a lvl 1-45 is good enough to get you going but when you get the kibble a lvl 116-120/150 should be your main goal. High damage means more metal per hit & weight is your 2nd most useful stat to carry more. P.s taming a lvl 145 ankly now ;)

Went to herbivore island in the hopes of taking one and bringing back a couple hundred metal. I ended up leaving with 3,700 metal. Such a good investment, get yourself an ankylo

I live at herbivore Island try not to knock them out if there are his bros are around they will kill you plus don't go into water there faster then you

They spawn in mountainous areas and in the snowy regions but you'll probably end up taming one at herbivore island so here's how to tame:

Get a crossbow and tranq arrows, shoot it while backpedaling until it's knocked out, then feed it berries while watching its torpor bar until its tamed

They are very slow and can't turn around very easily. So come up behind one and shoot it with tranq arrows. You should be able to knock it out before it turns around and attacks you. But don't get too close!! Watch out for other Ankylosaurus too. They are travel in herds

Around mountains and in the southern areas, in general pretty common

Great for metal. You don't actually need the saddle to go on a mining expedition. As far as I know it only works for the metal concentrated rocks with gold veins on them (can be found on mountains mostly), but you can whistle move them (with the green arrow) towards the rock and they auto-harvest. Game can be finicky and not have the anky do it if it decides the metal is in a weird spot, but a great way to get lots of metal for early metal items before you can unlock the saddle.

When they are tamed . And you don’t have metal. Rocks around . Hit river rocks . works for me. Sorry for bad English
