I don’t think the torp timer is more than 2hr like it says. Seems more like 30 min to me

The best way is to use pyro because u can instantly tame it because of fire that drains food and also it’s very practical

Tried several ways, but my favorite is a plain ol’ shotgun. Max shotgun should only take 2-3 shots for it to roar, run up feed it, run past, turn around and shoot again. When it does it’s fake roar shoot once to bring health down as it finishes roar, then continue with same routine. Corrupted riot gear also helps a lot.

So to tame this beast you will need:

Pump Action Shotgun (with Ammo)

Metal Gates

Definitely Narcotics (Depends on the level)

Giant Bear Trap

And another Pump Action just in case the first one breaks

So you will need this tame: Mainly Argentavis or a tanky and fast tame that can fit through metal gates

Tutorial: You need to find a Acrocanthosaurus, These mainly spawn on the RedWood, (Center,Island,Astraeos) Carno Island, (Island) and the Dunes, (Scorched Earth and the Biodome in Extinction),

So to finally tame this beast you need to get the Argentavis and build the metal gates near the Acro, you have to get its aggro and lead it to the gates, trap it with the giant bear trap, and place the final metal gate to fully trap it, use the shotgun to shoot it until it goes into a pose, that is the protection or shield pose, you need it to go into that, you keep shooting it until it roars, run to its mouth, and feed it the Narcotics, repeat this until it knocks out. Now kill some dinos or get some Raw Meat, but definitely Prime Meat to feed it and there you go! You tamed my Favorite ARK Modded and Official Tame! The Acrocanthosaurus.

Use Tek rifle or good shotgun, careful when in shield stance. Need lots of element for Tek suit or can use desmo then quickly land to feed bio toxin. Will need lots of bio toxin.

You can trap acros in a 3 by 3 and 2 wall high drop in trap

Max cap shotgun takes 4 shots once in shield stance

You should use bio toxin and a really strong sniper or rifle and I would recommend using a trap

You’ll kill more of these “dinos’s” than actually tame then you get to a certain percentage of torpidity then you just deal damage instead of it actually raising in torp whichever dev added this was clearly high when thinking of a taming method….

Absolute dog awful way to tame a dino don’t waste your time you’ll just be wasting armour and ammo when it does the wrong roar then get attracted to other tames

I would highly recommend a 298% pump action shotgun on high level Acros. Use Biotoxin, it’s not hard to get. Make at least 200+ shotgun ammo. Shoot it and make sure it’s in the shield stance while you’re shooting it. If there are no Dino’s nearby then kidnap some babies and keep them in a cryo. If you mess up and it gets on low hp, throw out a baby and let it eat it. Then recontinue. I would recommend to practice in a single player world with creative mode enabled. Good luck!

Tips worth considering:

#1: Bring a friend or play spitscreen.

#2: ALWAYS use bio token, not narcotics. They work, but you'll be there for literal hours.

#3: Use any gun other than the long neck. An upgraded simple pistol will work.

#4: Bring a very tanky tame that you can shoot of the back of. Examples like the thyla.

And #5: When you finally get it down, make sure to have metal spikes on you. I lost a max level to a carno because I didn't have spickes. The metal spikes are worth the investment of materials.

Use a giant heavy game with a lot of HP and set it to passive, jump off and shoot a shotgun into the Acro feed biotoxin. You can feed in while standing behind it just have to walk up to a leg or foot and feed it while it’s agro on the tame. Super easy method, it can kill you so still be careful

Taming this thing is kind of easy or hard depending on your luck and what method you use.

What ur gonna need:

- Good dmging ranged weapon

- Narcotic or biotoxin (although I recommend biotoxin as it's more potent)

- Good set of flak

- A tame you can shoot off of (if you're free taming)

- Dino gates and large bear traps

- Raw Meat or Exceptional kibble

If you are using a trap to tame it, you just set it up like you are taming a giga and if you are using a tame then just kite around.

Steps to taming (this is with a trap but most of the steps will work with free taming too):

1. Locate the acro you want to tame

2. Set up the trap in a good location

3. Lure the acro into the trap

4. Shoot it until it goes into shield stance (stands kinda sideways)

5. Keep shooting whilst it's in that state

6. Once you've done enough dmg it will do a roaring animation at you, this is your chance to run in and feed it some narcotics/biotoxins

7. Repeat steps 4-6 until it knocks out

8. Put your taming food in it's inventory

9. Take your new friend for a spin!! :)

Use a prim shotgun it works wonders

With the addition of the burrow buck its easy. You just need a tanky buck, a friend that doesn't mind staying near by on foot and some dinos it can eat in the process. Tamed 2 in about 10 mins. Just beat them up with a tanky tame just Makes it easier

Tried taming a Acro… on PVE boosted with a level 470 trike. Killed Acro after I fed him around 8 times. I hate this game

They are on carnivore island on the island and they always spawn there.👍
