Shocking tranq darts don,t work

Yes you can find them on the Island. I found one while trudging through the swamps of all places.

These things are surprisingly good at turret soaking for a Dino like it.

Normal stance: 1.0X

Defense stance: 2.0X

Adrenaline defense stance: 3.0X

X= X defense

No traps it won't roar near buildings or other survivors' buildings so tame it in the open away from other survivors' bases and use a soft but strong creature or weapon to hit it until it's bloody and what Until it roars then feed it if you miss it let it attack a creature to regain health and repeat the process carry light for quick getaways and stay alive as long as possible

Ok I saw a tip saying not too shoot it during its false roar. You absolutely SHOULD shoot it when it does the false roar because it will do the actual roar immediately after so you can feed it narcotic. Also don't use Primitive pump use mastercraft or Ascendant so you can put three to four shots in per roar. If you want a controlled space for taming download the Randi's animal trap mod and use the largest trap. Works wonders

Feed it a bunch of fycking biotoxin

Get a good stego and just fight it, when it roars just jump of toss drugs in its mouth and get back on the stego

Taming it I assume will be just like the mod, which is to damage it until it goes into a shield stance where you’ll need to damage it further till it roars, when it does force feed it narcotic/bio toxin and then rinse and repeat until it KO’s.

Do note that the Acro can fake the roar, it will perform a different animation with a different sound, so it is noticeable if you’re paying attention.

This Dino is meant to bridge the gap between the rex and the carchar / giga, so it is going to be quite strong, I suggest the following items to make sure your taming process goes as smoothly as possible.

1.) Full ascendant flak (or anything stronger than flak) armor, the better armor rating the better (will protect you a decent amount if you get stunned off your mount by a microraptor)

2.) an agile creature with a decent health pool with the ability to shoot off the back of it while riding (I've heard trapping doesn't work with this creature)

3.) an ascendant 200+% damage pump shotgun (this creature is a knockout tame, but it requires damaging it heavily until it roars at you and glows red, then you can feed it a narcotics / biotoxin to knock it out)

4.) loads of biotoxin (try to bring atleast 300+ just to be safe)

5.) they spawn commonly in the redwoods, so be extremely weary of thylas and microraptors during the taming process. if you can, try to lead it away from the redwoods

When you decide to go out and tame these pos, just understand that when ark wants to lag the game it completely screws the entire taming process up, the acro will not go back into shield mode and it won’t regenerate health. My best way to put it is, if you want to win the lottery then go the other way, but if you decide you want to give up ur luck on winning the lottery to tame one of these acros then go for it, there’s zero chance otherwise especially when there’s lag on ur server.

Great for clearing spam and turrete inside caves because of the 6x damage.

Has anyone found one on the island yet? I'm hoping to get one of these absolute units so that I can do more effective meat runs.

I use Managarmr to tame Acro. Use high health if not accustomed to taming this way. (Mine have 6k health and 2.3k dmg which is way too much) Use Ice breath in burst to know how much dmg you are doing. Tek binos make it easier. After the first initial feeding. The rest of the process is fast and simple. Ice breath til low health or until it roars. Rinse and repeat. Knock back doesn't effective mana as much

So far my tribemate and I have found the best way is an assault rifle and her playing tank and taking the dmg with an ascended riot sheikh while I shoot. Keeps her close for the bio toxin

i did mine by using my mastercraft fabricated pistol (preferably a sniper or pump works) my friend joined me and he held the bio toxin (narcs work too) and i shot it and it followe him then when it would roar after shield posing he would feed it, and now we have our female Acrocanthosaurus

If it don't have a clear walking path to you it will stop shield stance so my attempts at a trap have fail obstacles work for me

- Do NOT try to facetank it when taming, it no longer works.

- Avoid taming too close to sructures as it might not go into shield stance or won't roar.

- Also avoid taming in an environment with a lot of obstacles, if it gets stopped, trapped or slowed down by them then it tends to not go into stance.

- Clear area of wildlife and trees before initiating.

- Best approach is to keep out of its bite distance, if you are on foot, Focal Chilli and/or Battle Tartar is recommended to outpace the Acro, and Flak set is to survive the occasional bites.

Takes 60% less damage in shield mode

You can use tames instead of firearms to trigger the roar once they’re in shield mode. I recommend something that has a nice backing-up speed so you can bite without getting bitten.

Deinosuchus are what I prefer because they can’t be knocked back by an acro’s attacks or roar. They can be mounted again very quickly without requiring you to run far to the acro’s mouth. Only use the quick bite attack, not the giga bite (for fear of killing the acro). The damage should be dealt carefully, and you should be tracking the hits. Any other tame with these qualities will do well.

This can also be done quickly on a Pyromane, but be careful not to use the Pyro on the last round of dealing torpor. I’m not sure if the burn can mess up the taming effectiveness, but I didn’t want to find out. I use a firearm or pike to tigger the last roar in this case.

Pre Tek suit, the easiest method is using a Managrmr. Just walk backwards and spam your breath until it roars. Then run up to it, jump off the mana, and feed it biotoxin. Manas speed, range, and freezing ability makes it super easy. You can escape quick if you miss a feed and the low breath damage makes it easy to see when the acro is getting too low so you don't accidentally kill it too.
