Need a Early game Guide? Here’s One: Chapter 2: Resources and Crafting: Now that you’ve made a character, and spawned, if you want to get closer to beating the island, you’ll need resour- wait, I forgot something in the previous chapter.. controls! left stick to move, right stick to move the camera, A to jump, and press down left stick to crouch. Anyway, as I was saying, you’ll need resources. Find small stones on the coast (not to be confused with seashells that can’t be picked up and have no purpose) and pick up the stones. also, punch trees (totally not a Minecraft reference) to get wood and thatch. now that you have resources, open your inventory, (press B) move your cursor (left stick) to crafting, move your cursor to the rock strapped to a stick (stone pickaxe) and press A to craft. Wait until it’s done crafting, go into your inventory and equip your new tool. hit big stones with it to get flint, to craft a
different looking stone strapped to a stick, and a torch.

Even though Casteroids are better at collecting wood, mammoths can carry so much more, and have higher weight reduction. They also move faster and have a larger attack range. When gathering wood on a mammoth, I personally have found that it’s stomp, or left trigger (Xbox) attack gathers more than its main attack

Deintherium is really good at farming wood better than mammoth. But pump weight into it cause it can't be grabbed.
When making med bottle use thatch instant of wood,wood will create burned wood and it will make game thinks you are trying to make red dye
Although they don't have weight reduction Theris are extremely fast gatherers. I gather wood with my Theri and have a beaver following so that when my Theri gets encumbered I just throw it all on the beaver.
