Stegosaurus are an easy starter tame that can harvest 100s of wood in a couple of swings

Go to edge of redwoods, hit the tall redwood trees with chainsaw and you’ll get a lot doing that.

I would recommend taking something what could withstand the weight

You don’t have to spend 50 engram points on a Castaroids Saddle, you can enable it on wandering, then carry it with an Argentavis, and drop it near a tree, it harvests 50 wood per tree. If it doesn’t work try again.

No need wasting 50 engram points on casto saddle, just enable wander it and carry it with argent near wood, if there is no wood nearby it again then pick it and drop it again near wood, its more effective than ride it and farm manualy

You can use a stegosaurus to gather woods, using the heavy plates mode. They don't have weight reduction, however, they have a lot of weight. Moreover it gathers so much wood! It's amazing, I have a stego named Stella and every tree give me almost 100 woods and she can hold between 800 to 700 woods inside it's inventory.

Get a fast enough land animal to outrun a beaver that also has great storage, then do beaver runs

Sure mammoth has better weight reduction and weight overall than the Beaver BUT what many people don't know is that like an anky or doedic, the casteroids when carried by an argent or quetz will auto collect wood.
