Koryos, Chapter I

We had completed the traditions of my tribe, we had killed wolves, from which we would take hide, and wear it, we would become the wolves in spirit. I was the Koryonos, the leader, my name was Alexander. My friends, Pontius, Rex and Helios among other new people I’d only known by glances in the village set out across the plains, where my ancestors had settled, and we would expand our culture, our tribe, our way of life.

We stopped at a forest, we killed a cow, eating at the fire Helios regaled us with the story about how he once wrestled a wolf, and lived to tell about it. “…and then he bit and he was a near inch from my face, when I punched him in the snout, and he ran off-“

“What was that, did any of you hear anything?” Pontius asked, a tense look on his face, I knew that look, that look when he thought beyond all reasonable doubt that something was off.

We heard a rustling in the bushes, the snapping of twigs, and suddenly, a roar, a deafening roar, and from the bushes came……a Chimera.

Manticore here, yes I’m back. I’m not too keen for explanation right now, just lazy, I’ll provide context hopefully with part 2. And for those of you wondering, the Chimera is my lounging loafing moocher cousin, I told him to pick up the d@mn groceries for once!
