Hey all! Going to write my second tale (I’m also the author of the Diana story- that was my first tale in the Rock Drake section, oh and the Diana story is true by the way). I hope this goes well

Chapter 1: Kitty Kats

So I should probably introduce myself- My name is Whiplash. Cool right? Anyway- name out of the way, I’m a Shadowmane but not on our holy lands. Our holy lands, by the way, are the homes and forests our creator, our God, gave us- but generations ago our ancestors found a way to move to different lands- lands of fire and magma, of water and ice and of fluorescent blue lights that dazzle you with their majestic glow- me and my pack are living in one of these ‘bioluminescent forests’ that subdued us with their beauty. There is abundant prey, and we share this land with another pack- they live in a cave that shines with the same blue and purple hue that we have learnt to to call our home. They appear from the shadows much like we do, and can scale any surface and glide any distance. Our pack has learnt to live in harmony with them- we share our prey and knowledge but do not go near their cave and they don’t go near our young. That is how we are as of now.

I was stalking, slowly along the water’s edge, my eyes set on a turtle around my size. It was lazing about, and little did it know I was there. I was cloaked- only my vibrant purple footsteps showed my presence. I concealed them in a bush nearby. I began. I crawled threw the bushes. And drew back, about to pounce. I leaped through the air, but a purple flash hit my target and I scramble back. The turtle was dead, and with one paw placed triumphantly on top stood… Shira! Oh, Shira! Shira is my best friend, a female Shadowmane. I love her, the way she moves- so swiftly and flowing, swaying as she walks and her beautiful, beautiful body. She walked, slowly swaying towards me and I trotted over to her.

“Shira!” I shouted and she nuzzled her head into my neck and I buried my head into hers. She said:

“Hey you!” And we started circling me, before she came and leaned on my side. We walked over to the kill and I took a piece of meat to her, which she took and ate politely. After we had feasted on our kill, I lay down and she curled up around me and rested her head in my chest. I looked around one more time before I lay my head on hers. We rested there until night- where we woke and decided that we should head back to the pack. We slowly walked along the edge of the water, skimming the glowing algae that dotted the surface of the lake. We saw some of our neighbours (the cloaked cave lizards) as we walked back, enjoying each other’s company. We saw the faint glow of our pack in ahead of us and before we were in sight of them, Shira said to me:

“I love it when it’s just the two of us. When there’s no-one else, just us.” I replied, saying:

“I know- me too. The best moments are when it’s just you and me.” She buried her head into my side as we neared the others.

That’s it! Hope you liked it- my first proper tale!
