Actually, berrie, buddy old pal, it's spiritbird8960 to you, and I've been here since early June, therefore, no, no you have not. Ask around. You will get the same response. I have been here. I own this domain. And I've worked hard to earn it. Do not begin a war you cannot win. Do not come at me, berrie. Aight? I hope to make peace, but I can make war.

Reign of fire (S:1 E: 3)
She stared in disbelief, the man had just...no! He had left it to rot?! How could he! Ye inhumani-
She was snapped out of her thoughts by a sharp voice.
"Sweet cakes. You there? I said, grab your things, let's go."
Once again, she was confused behind words. Didn't he just say to get lost?
So why does he want me to come with him now?
"Hurry up! I don't have all day."
He called again. She sighed, and came, not having anything of value.
"So you don't have anything? I thought you were a bob, seems I'm right. Let me teach you one thing about this world, a'ight? It's kill or be killed, eat or be eaten. You can't go be all hippy-dippy in the flowers, eating berries your whole life. At some point, you have to come out, and hunt, FIGHT, fight for your place on the food chain, lest you live here forever, stuck, calling, wandering. Alright? Cool, second thing, always over estimate EVERYTHING. If you treat it like it's dangerous, chances are, you will be safe. Aviod anything big with teeth. I've yet to meet a friendly carnivore, and I doubt you'll be any different. Any question?"
She listened to the man, before stopping to snap back at him, then Thought better of it, deciding upon the one thing she had been wondering all day.
"Where are-"
He held up a hand.
"Ah, buh-buh-buh!"
He said, cutting across.
"That's the one thing we never asked ever. Come to think of it, one more thing."
He stood, and stared a the sky, pointing, squinting at the sun. She was confused until his hand pointed towards a tall, metallic, light emitting spire. An obelisk.
"Don't go to those. There is nothing amazing up there, just legends, and death. Both horrible things. Now come with me if you want to live. That wasn't a threat,"
He remounted his raptor.
"That was a promise."

Full of all the og fan fictioners! Alright, back to the story!: She raised her head, pushing up from the cool dirt, onto staggering legs. It was beautiful; she had never seen anything like it. The air, was clear, and delicious, the sky was the deepest of blues, and the grass and earth, Oh! The grass! She had never seen anything like it before. It was GREEN! Not brown, yellow, or a dying tan, the happy, cheerful color of life! Forget the dangers, for now, all was perfect.
...
Dawn began with the songs of calling birds, and creatures of the unknown. It wasn't like the night was silent, far from that, but it was even more cheerful, and alive, as the sun cast it's first rays of hope and light across the blessed soil. She gaped In awe, she had never seen the sun. It was beautiful. She took a second, and stopped staring at it, her eyes hurt, and gazed across the moor. She was content, but soon, she would be famished. Making the decision to work first, play later, she set off. A wide assortment of bushes was down along the bottom of the ravine, if she could just get to it- There! Along the rocks, there was a few bushes growing along the crags, she reached out, and began to forage within them, pulling out berries, fiber, and even the occasional rockarrot. Heck, she even collected some rocks for good measure! Once she had finished pulling those up, she set down the hill, in search for better foraging grounds, resources were plentiful. Half way down the hill, she heard a thunderous roar, turning around, she caught sight of a hulking figure, looming above her. Then, a sharp pain tore through her chest, and all was black once more.

Hi again shadow! Sorry, been busy, life and stuff, uh, yeah, so I can't give the best advice. I usually just do it, and wing it. Always have, but I suggest research. A LOT of research, as well as create some new ideas. Take this, for example. I run a sw rp. And in said rp, I have my own faction, and the ranks are ones you would probably not hear of. For example, I don't just have one type of guard, I took it into my hands to be creative, and created different guards for different things. like standard guards, sky watchers, (they go about, watching for danger from the air) and the like. So just be innovative with your writing. And systems are good too.

@Shadow
In my experience, the hardest part of writing a story is the start. You usually plan out all the action or the really exciting parts but have no idea how to get there. The best way I get past this issue: Start at an exciting part of the story and then fill in the details that led to the event through flashback, dialogue, etc.
Not only does this eliminate the issue of how to start, but it can also captivate your readers from the first chapter and make them want more.
The best thing you can do in your writing: write what YOU enjoy, and you'll find others that enjoy it too. Hope you found this at least a little helpful.
