ATTENTION EVERYONE! THIS IS A PSA BY CL1 (yes the real CL1)
THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE SUS SITUATION, THIS IS EXTREMELY SERIOUS:
President Loki has been writing a story in Black dye and they've been getting a lot of love (and hate) for it. Up till now it was the usual, "you suck" and "nobody cares" messages, but the latest posts have been spams telling them they're life is meaningless and they need to commit.
I've already reported them and sent a lengthy rant, but this needs to be said here, because I fear this type of message is going to spread to all of the dyes.
TO THE FANFICTIONERS
Don't be discouraged my friends! We have our differences, our skirmishes, but we are all on the same side here. If these messages spread to your sections, remember the fans. Remember the kind messages and people begging for more. Remember the newer fanfictioners you inspired! So many of the people we have here would have never arrived without the first few!
If you have a fanfictioner here that inspired you, tell them so! It means more now than ever. I was inspired to write my own stories by DTG and Seasnake.
I KNOW SOME OF YOU STRUGGLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES, AND THIS PART IS SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU:
Don't listen to the seven-year-old on the other side of the screen. There is a reason you write, don't forget. Fans or no fans, known or unknown, you write because you love writing. Remember that, no matter what is thrown your way. Remember that and soldier on, because for ever hate message you have, there's a silent fan of your work out there waiting for more!
TO THE FANS
I know some of you have found our hub, and to you I say, THIS WILL NOT STOP US. We are here for the love of the game, and the thought that all of you out there are here in our corner (though we don't always know it) is enough to push me forward, and I hope I can say the same of most of the others. If you do enjoy the story, let the writer know. If can be as simple as "This is great" or "keep wititng!" It doesn't take much to bring a smile to the writer's face, believe me, I know!
TO THE HATERS
I think it needs to be said that hate truely is a distorted form of love. The worst thing you can give someone else is indifference. The true lack of care, lack of acknowledgeement that they even exist. So first, I want to say thank you. Thank you for acknowledging us. (This especially goes for you SuS. I think you really love us and just didn't want to fade out as a generic fan, so you're making yourself "special.")
But now this needs to be said as well. You can scoff and laugh and spit on what we do, but what are you trying to accomplish, really? Ask yourself in all honesty: "Why am I doing this?"
Is it jealousy, that writing isn't where you are strongest? You think everyone here came out the womb making Shakespear? It's something that takes practice and dedication and love. We wouldn't be here if we didn't enjoy it.
Maybe you just don't like to read? Great, then move on and find something else to do. Watch TV or a movie (which people had to first WRITE, might I add) or play a sport, go camping, cook a meal, something productive rather than sitting in the dark writing threats and putting other people down.
Maybe you just don't have anything better to do?
.... really? You'd do better finding ways to solve pollution and world hunger, but no. You're sitting here doing this? And some of you have the audacity to call us "pathetic."
Or maybe it's the oldest reason in human history. Some one hurt you, so you're hurting someone else. First, find someone to talk to. If you don't think that's a safe option, there's always SOMEONE you can turn to, whether physically or spiritually. Second, brining pain on other people isn't going to bring you satisfaction, its only going to put more pain out in the world to come right back to you. In my experience, the kind of actions you make directly correlate to your mood.
Bad actions make you feel bad, helpful actions make you feel helpful. There's a reason people help the elderly cross the street.
LASTLY, TO THOSE THAT CROSSED THE LINE
Don't you ever... EVER tell someone to "commit." This world is a dark, dark place, and some of us have seen more darkness than others. There are those out there that it simply takes one push, one more feather on the burden they bear and they will be crushed.
Blood truely could end up on your hands. This is not a game, this is life and life is too much to bear sometimes. Don't end someone elses early. Don't end someone elses at all.
~CL1 needs a break from humanity sometimes.

I saw The Advocate's response and I'd like to explain some things.
Firstly, I take full responsibility for my past mistakes. I undeniably hurt the community with my naive actions. I was incredibly immature.
I apologized to PM about the argument we had years ago, but forgot to apologize for my other actions.
I'm sorry for aggressively promoting the discord and encouraging people to migrate to it. I shouldn't have pushed something that only certain people could use.
I'm also incredibly sorry about how I spoke of people and their writing. It was childish and I regret it. The only writing I currently dread is my own past writing.
Yes, most writers here can write stories FAR superior to Dodo Tales. Dodo Tales was pretty awful and I want to implode whenever someone reminds me of its existence.
Regarding my status in the community, I am currently uninterested in fanfictions in general.
Regarding other OGs,
do not blame them for my actions. Bob, snek, CL1, etc. simply trusted me. They are not responsible for what I have done. I also cannot recall them insulting newer writers as I did.
Additionally, I don't believe they are morally obligated to participate in the community or read any new stories. They (as far as I'm aware) have lost interest, and we are all free to leave the community at any time.
I've made an effort to improve as a person over the years and I hope you can all forgive me.
Also, please tell me if I've forgotten to address anything. Im sure I have.

If you're wondering what we talk about in the discord nowadays...
nothing. It's literally just two people playing wordle over and over. It died.
There's an active discord server called Club Parrot that has some writers in it, but I'm not involved with that server.

DTG, You are still very well known within the dex, however, I wouldn’t be too sure if you are seen in a good light by some.
I am here to say this to you though. You are one the reason for this place’s demise, you as one of the main foundations didn’t cultivate when you could. You didn’t stand for those who needed it, you left entirely to a site that only available to those who make an account. No one else shall see or know what you speak or do. Then you only appreciated the works of those from your time or those who rivaled your own works. Therefore, you and many of the others, fell. Either coming in once a year or just falling into obscurity.
Something I find ironic is that when you once mocked the newer writers for sounding like the written work of ten year olds in a joking manner, which you claimed to be nothing more than light hearted jokes although from the conversation seemed to be more of mockery. But what I find funny is that you seem to be younger than most of those you “joked” about, which by means, doesn’t aid that their writing is simply better than your last pieces to DodoTales, which wasn’t that far separated from the newer writer’s writings.
But what I find most disturbing is that you didn’t even CARE when it happened. No apology, no forthright response to the matter, no claim of falsehood. The only one who did come was Bob, to which he apologized and set up diplomatic relations, bless him for his actions of trying to make things right… You came in AFTER diplomatic actions occurred like nothing happened and just claimed you were going to continue DodoTales. Which also didn’t see fruition.
This only seems to prove the claims of “Ben”.
NOW TO ALL THOSE HERE. I stand unaffiliated with neither side of the matter. I stand not with Achatina, nor with the dyes and OG, or even the “HATERS” and “Fanfictioneers”. I wander as though I were a Homo Deus. To wander the universe of the dex until I hit that fateful point where I go beyond this universe that is the dex. And cease to exist.
I have a statement to say to Achatina too.
You may act better than the OGs, you may not talk behind others backs like the OGs once did, but you are no means better. For one, seem to hold a bitter resentment against OGs, while you say you forgive, you never speak of them, nor celebrate their actions they had made that were indeed good. Not only that, but you seem to fall slowly in the same demise as they once did. That being, you don’t cultivate anymore, or as much as you use to. You slowly have disappeared from your own community, making your own decision to go to a site that while is more inclusive to those who lack access the ability to sign ins, allowing for all of dex to see what you speak of. But it is still exclusive to those who want to join in, because they need to make an account. As much as you don’t want to hear it, you are making the same mistakes as the OGs did so long ago. And who knows, maybe one day, there will slip, and you’ll become the new OGs to the next new writers. As those who ignore history, are doomed to repeat it.
Here is where I give my advice TO ALL.
For the OGs here that still come.
Do what is needed from you, if you sought to come and see what things are like since you last came in. Read the stories that are here now, especially before judging, interact with the new writers more than once a year, maybe be more apart of their communities, and not just your own here. Try to learn from them, or teach them if they need it. Try to make an attempt at this, genuinely.
For the newer writers,
FORGIVE… not just with your mouths, or your thoughts, but with your hearts. Saying you do so, but pretending they don’t exist or they don’t matter in your era of existing is no means forgiving. It’s barely considered tolerating. Forgive truly and honestly. And do as I said unto the OG writers. As the same can work for you too.
Instead of existing as two separate groups that never interact, maybe you both can work together, interact with one another in both positives and negatives as one. To make a better, more prosperous community in the dex. One that shares the same, love we all came to find within Ark and the dex. Love and Passion in a game and story. Maybe then there will be a truly thriving community that exists for years to come.
But maybe no one will listen, maybe no one will take my heed, we. May only see some come once every year, and others once every month. And then see a new dawn of young writers who have the passion to build their own community. And they’ll repeat this history as though doomed from the beginning. Or maybe the dex Fanfiction will die with the end of the Achatina Writers. It’s the choice of the Dyes/OGs here and Achatina Writers in Achatina though, not mine to carry. As I will continue to drift through the universe, I call the dex.

Sometimes I look back at all the arguments we had back in the day here and I just cringe
The Advocate, saying this as an Achatina member. I have already forgiven them a while ago, not as long as I wish to admit as I did hold resentment. But long enough that a message like this wasn’t necessary. But I thank you for the effort!!! And while yes we haven’t been as bond building on the dex as often as we should, a lot of us have been busy with IRL stuff. So it’s been hard for a lot of us to do. I am trying, but I am only one person.
DTG and Manticore, I accept your apologies, but in my case. I have forgiven you for your actions. It did hurt, but I got over it a while ago. And I didn’t blame any other OG. And I agree DTG, they shouldn’t be obligated, but if they want to come. They can. And you guys can too if you want, but it’s up to you guys!!!
You guys may have damaged this community, but you guys did good too in your time. I think we forget that, and that you guys inspired others to write here too.
Well, not sure what else to say, but if I want to say something else, I’ll send some more!!

It’s been a long while since I’ve been here, I rarely ever show up, so I might as well say something useful
I am embarrassed of how I talked about newer writers, that was wrong of me, and I think I forgot what my own writings was like (and dear lord do I hate it, part of the reason I don’t write here is that I really don’t want someone to find my old stories lol) suffice to say that I was out of line, and deserved the criticism I got. I guess I thought it didn’t matter because none of them would see it anyways, but that doesn’t excuse my behavior.
To the new writers: Keep it up, I probably won’t write here again, just because I’ve lost interest in Ark fanfic as a whole (I have like, one idea bouncing around in my head that I might act on if I’m really bored) you guys will be better here than I ever was, I like to think that I’ve gotten better, but I’m sure there are a lot of people more talented than me
To the OGs: Nothing much to really say, just thanks for inspiring me to write here and, from that, make some really important friendships
This will probably be the last you guys will hear from me for a good while, so FF4L
