Chapter 14:Rumble in the Jungle
“Admit it, we’re lost!”
They had been walking for at least two weeks with no idea where they were and Bruce was starting to get upset. “For the last time,” Vyker said “we are not lost!” “Oh sure!” Bruce called back. “Guys just calm down.” Amanda said, “I’m sure we’re fine.” Bruce muttered under his breath. Vyker looked up at some mountains over in the distance. They looked imposing from such a distance. “So the Redwood is over there.” Vyker pointed forward, “So if we follow the Swamp east we should get to the City.” Amanda looked as if she just saw a ghost “Vyker, you have got to be kidding me. The Swamp? Thats like the most dangerous place on this Ark.” “Yes I know but..” Vyker started as Bruce heard a bush rustle. “Uh, guys?” Bruce called. Vyker’s face turned to look at where the noise came from. Amanda drew a gun from her holster. Vyker held a hand up. “Don’t. Move.” He whispered. Suddenly five raptor’s sprang from the bushes. One leaped on Vyker and two were chasing Amanda. The last one glowed red and a cloud of red followed it as leaped at Bruce. Instinctively he held his arms out in a blocking position. The raptor nearly sliced his hand off. Bruce grabbed it’s arm and with all his might, threw it a the ground. The raptor merely bounced back and sprang at him again. It slammed him to the ground and lunged at his head. ‘This is the end.’ Bruce thought. Suddenly three gunshots rang out as the raptor went limp. Bruce looked over and saw Amanda with a smoking gun. He inhaled realizing that he was holding his breath. He glanced at Vyker who looked like he snapped his raptor’s neck. Vyker looked worried, a rare expression on Vyker. “So we’ve taken out four, right?”. Bruce turned pale, “Where is the fifth one.” Bruce said.

Chapter 13
Bruce’s Journal:3
We’ve just finished fighting a giant spider. I’ve survived, can’t say the same about Larry. Amanda is grievous about it. I know her pain, as he is was my best friend. Anyway the remaining soldiers were arguing about how to back to the city. This was stupid because we all have compasses but each person was arguing about the way back. I kinda agree with that. The way we got here was treacherous. Spinosauruses, raptors, and kentosaurs! Some the soldiers decided to go each others way. Amanda and Vyker decided to stay with me. Vyker said he fought the Broodmother before and there should be a head of it. We couldn’t find it so he said someone must have ran off with it and the flag. I wonder why. Anyway we also got theses small pieces of metal that Amanda calls “Element”. It feels warm at the touch. I don’t know about Amanda or Vyker but something feels… I don’t know. Off. It as if I can control the metal. I’ll have to sign off Vyker with Amanda’s help had mapped a way back home. All I can think about is that Hades is fine.
(I mainly add these notes to encourage myself.)

Chapter 12: … greener on the other side.
The spiders- oh the spiders. Their legs crawled over Bruce shoulders and head. Their eyes pierced in his heart. Their mouths bit into him injecting poison in his blood. “This is the end.” Bruce thought. He closed his eyes and waited for the poison to overwhelm him. Suddenly a ferocious roar and giant teeth were what Bruce saw and heard. Three rexs tore at the spiders while a yutysaur gave a loud roar. Bruce sat up. “Tha-.” “Don’t talk, fight!” Bruce rolled his eyes and grabbed the shotgun that the rider threw at him. He loaded it and fire several rounds. The spiders came down with each bullet. He took a glance at Vyker and saw him slashing the Broodmother’s legs. It just whacked Vyker away. “It too powerful to be taken down by hand.” Vyker shouted as he landed on his feet, “The blasted beast’s hide is to thick.” Bruce took a shot at it and the little bullets went everywhere. “Tell me about it.” Bruce shouted back. The rider on the yuty, it was Amanda, looked at the Broodmother. To the rex riders she shouted a command in Spanish, but everyone understood. The rexs charged at the Broodmother as the yuty let out a furious screech. Vyker lunged at a horde of spiders and Bruce cocked his gun. The rexs bit the Broodmother and blood started to spill from the abdomen. “Wow nice hit.” Bruce thought. The spiders suddenly surrounded the Broodmother and attacked the rexs. Amanda launched off the yutysaur and whistled at it. She drew a gun and started firing. Bruce tried to reload, only to find no bullets. He threw that down and drew his sword. “Now if only I could reach the heart of the Broodmother.” Bruce thought. Vyker looked at him and Bruce knew that they were thinking the same thing. Bruce rushed over to Vyker and the latter launched him into the air. Time seemed to stop as Bruce flew through the air and his sword tip met thick hide. With a solid hit the Broodmother flailed as its blood poured out. Bruce jumped off as the Broodmother fell on its back. The remaining survivors cheered. Vyker and Bruce fist bumped and Amanda hugged the nearest person next to her. “At last” Vyker said, “ the Broodmother has felt the pain that we have felt. Let us rejoice!” The troops cheered. Bruce looked at everyone and saw Amanda crying over Larrys dead body. He come over and knelt down beside her. “I’ll miss as much as you will.” Amanda nodded, “I know.” She said though tears. “I just don’t want to leave him.”. She hugged Bruce, “Your the closest person that to him.” Bruce smiled just as a blinding light flashed as they were teleported back to the Obelisk.

Chapter 11:The grass isn’t always…
Three weeks earlier.
“And drink it all up Bruce” Barney, the leader of the military trainers, told Bruce. Bruce quickly shoved the pleasant dish his trainer gave him. ‘Focal chili. Pretty good.’ He thought. Barney quickly marched over to a stable and Bruce scampered to keep up. “Bruce!” Barney barked, “Yes sir.” Bruce said, “Remember that book I told you to read? The Animal Encyclopedia?” “Yes sir.” “Well now it will come in handy, hope you jogged your memory.” Barney put his hand on a scanner. A robot voice called out “Hand print recognized. Welcome Barney Johnson.” Barney muttered under him breath about the scanner. The door opened and they stepped in. Bruce looked around and saw a bunch of creatures, from Rexs to Yutys, Dodos to Spiders. Barney motioned to for Bruce to follow. “Here we are.” Bruce saw the large dinosaur with feathers and a beak and tail with a large amount of colorful plumage with a brown saddle with some saddlebags. “The Gigaraptor.” Bruce said. “Excellent recognition Bruce.” Barney said. “And with some babies.” “Babies sir?” “Yes.” Barney said. He pulled a flap of the saddlebags to reveal a baby raptor and some meat to keep it fed. Barney placed some more meat for the baby, “This little beasts are a key factor for the fight.” Bruce lifted an eyebrow, “How so sir?” Barney gave Bruce a look as if he was stupid, “Didn’t you read that section? The babies are that weakest ones right?” “Yes?” “And the Gigaraptor defends the young with its life right.” “Yes.” then it came to Bruce. “So the Broodmother will target the babies…” “And the Gigaraptor will fight the Broodmother like heck.” Barney finished.
. . . . .
And boy did it fight. The Gigaraptor slashed at the hordes of spiders and bit them to pieces. ‘Effective’ Bruce thought. The plan was going perfectly. The only thing that they didn’t account for was the mass of smaller spiders. Their bite seemed to give torpor as some of the soldiers were knocked unconscious if bitten to many times. Their bodies were protected by the riders on the Rexs. Bruce fought. And fought. And fought. ‘How many freaking spiders are there?’. Suddenly Bruce noticed an opening in the horde of spiders to the Broodmother. Larry and Vyker noticed too. They charged at the mother and Larry fired his gun. The projectile hit the Broodmother and it turned around, anger burning in its eyes. It opened its mouth and spat green balls at Larry and Vyker. Vyker dodged. Larry was hit. His armor melting off his skin. Bruces mind scream in horror. The man that introduced him to the city, the dinosaurs, Barney for crying out loud was dying. Bruce fought with a rage that burned inside his heart. He slowly got to Larry as he lie there. But the spider over took Bruce and started to take him down to a similar demise as Larry.

Chapter 9
Rockwell’s observations 1
“What have I done?” Rockwell said. “Why did I create a human, let alone a son, in the first place?” “{You were alone on this planet}” his corrupted mind said. “I know that, thank you.” Rockwell rolled his eyes, “Now that you have sent him back in time, how are we supposed to keep an eye on his?” “{Easy, we make a portal to can look in different time periods}” Rockwell looked at his hands, at least what was left of them. “You made me a monster. I can believe that you can make portal.” His head jerked up and his eyes glowed a deep magenta, “{I make a portal?! Why do I always do everything?!}”. Rockwell’s eye turned back to blue, “Now now, getting a bit violent aren’t we?” “{Not at all. Now I gave you power to control a life ship that took thousands to control. And you, the ultimate life form, won’t take the simple task of creating a portal?}” Rockwell looked at the rubble he was standing on. “Because I know nothing about the pieces that need.” “{Oh for crying out loud, all we’ll need is the rain system. Get that and I’ll do the rest.}” Rockwell’s tendrils turned into hands. “What that…?” He just shrugged and closed his eyes “{Good now look. We are looking for a big round piece that has nozzles attached.}” Rockwell fell a strange power course though his veins. He opened his eyes to see the he was under the rubble. “Holy- how did you do that?” “{Easy, my powers are a part of you if you want to get rid of me you will always have signs of me. You have eyes everywhere under the ship’s rubble. Now keep looking!}” Rockwell looked to over to the left side and saw the rain system sticking out of one the many innard covered walls. “{Now reach for it.}” Rockwell reached and saw a tentacle grab the system. As he pulled he felt a bit of pain. “Thats strange.” “{Don’t mind that. Just keep pulling.}” Rockwell pulled it out and fell pain that fell like a thorn was taken out of his skin. He brought the rain system up to where he was. “{There, now my turn}” the corrupted mind said. Rockwell fell as if some of his power drained. The innards moved and placed the rain system in a position that made it look like a circle. A tentacle flipped a switch and rain activated. Another tentacle throw some glowing metal into the rain. Suddenly the rain veered off and a obelisk could be seen. “Wow.” “{I know.}” “How did you know that would happen?” “{One of the many wonders of element.}” “I’ll keep that in mind” Rockwell looked into the portal and gasped he saw Bruce get teleported to the Broodmothers lair. “Oh no.”

Chapter 9:The Obelisk
Bruce stepped out in to the sun light. It seemed so bright after being in a darker museum. “Are you ready?” Larry asked. Bruce sighed, “We’ll see.” Bruce forced a smile. Larry smiled back. “Ok lets go.”.
• • • •
“Forward march!” The general shouted. Bruce still questioned his skills with a gun, not that the gun was hard to load or anything, but he questioned the ability the march another mile even more. He looked forward at the large towering skyscraper. It had a diamond shape on the top that glowed green. In fact the whole thing was glowing green. “Wow.” Bruce marveled at the large structure he had only heard of. Vyker ,just a two soldiers ahead, looked at the tower. “Still a marvel to look at.” He whispered. Bruce smiled inward. After the nine weeks of grueling training, this was one of the few thing he heard him say. Bruce remembered looking at the dinosaurs he first saw. A Gigaraptor, a group of nine to ten Rexes, a feathered Rex called a Yutysaurus, a couple of Daedons and lot of troops. “Halt!”. Bruce was awake from his daydream. They were now under the Obelisk. The general shouted at the troops, “Men and women, on this day let it be known that we have come to slay the Broodmother Lyrix. Not everyone will make it, but your sacrifice will get a civilization off this forsaken Ark and forth back to Earth. Let us go forth towards victory!”. The troops cheered. So of them started to whisper to each other about their friends and family. Bruce looked a Larry, who nodded at him. Bruce sighed as the general set the glowing artifacts into their slots. The Obelisk started to form dome around the troops. So of the dinosaurs started to shake a bit. The dome suddenly collapsed and a blinding light flashed. Bruce felt like he was falling through the air and then landed on a hard rock floor. He looked up and there it was. The Broodmother Lyrix. “Attack!” The general shouted and the troops were off.

Chapter 8: Power beyond wonder
The robotic voice sounded off saying “This is the world in 2173. A world before the war.”. Bruce looked at the armor in the cases. It glowed a blue light. “The armor that you are looking at” the voice said, “is the first version of TEK, a new type of armor made from a new element called Element.”. Bruce smirked. Larry chuckled “So original I know.” Bruce looked at the armor. It looked gray with a blue glow and shoulder pads, a glowing middle and very sharp claws. The next case showed a smooth armor that looked like it was a onesie. “The second armor that is shown was not the best design as the sales plummeted with this armor.” Larry told Bruce “Its because the armor was to hard to put on. That and the jetpack malfunction to often.” Bruce looked at Larry “These things have jetpacks?!” He looked at the armor, “Well the future was still pretty far for me.”. The voice continued “The next few months gave the military armor for the Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, Marines, Army, and Space Force all equipped with the most powerful weapons.” the lights changed to six display cases that showed armor with guns and laser weapons on each shoulder and wrist. “Wow” Bruce said “the world seems to have changed a lot.” “And finally” the light changed’ “the final armor the best one that came out.”. The armor had spikes on its shoulders, a tube like jetpack, a helmet with tiny hexagons on its visor and darker blue color. “This armor is what the soldiers wore during the war with the URE and the Federation.” Larry deactivated the museum, “Well that enough for right now. If you need any information of history you can come here. Now lets go get ready for the Broodmother.” As Larry started to leave Bruce looked back at the armors wondering what that type of power would be like.

Chapter: 7 Briefing time
Larry motioned for Bruce to follow. Bruce moved quickly to see what Larry was showing him. “Here we are” Larry said. Bruce looked around. All he saw was a black wall that kinda acted like a mirror and that he was surrounded on all sides. Suddenly the mirror thing turn on, “Hello and welcome.”. Bruce near jumped a mile “What the…?”. Larry laughed, “Sorry that old TV always does.”. The TV continued, “Welcome to the museum of the world before the war and the aftermath. In the next room” the floor started to move, “you will see the items and clothes of the 21st century.” The automatic female voice said. Bruce turned to Larry who was grinning, “ What is going on?” The floor stopped and a door to the left open. “You are about to see how you got to this island.” Larry said as he walked through the open door. Bruce followed him in a room with statues with odd clothes on. The voice sounded off again, “Here we have how the males dressed.” The lights dimmed to show only one display case filled with statues with some tan pants with lots of pockets and shirts with some crazy details. “And here,” the changed to another case, “how the females dressed.”. It show more statues, some with skirts some with pants and more crazy shirts. Bruce looked at Larry in confusion. Larry mouthed “Just wait.” Larry walked over to a button that said “Skip” and pressed it. The voice paused and a hologram showed up around Bruce. “Which part would you like to skip to?” Another automated voice said. Bruce just stare in astonishment. Larry came over and pressed a couple of buttons. A platform lifed they up and moved over to a place that was signed “2175”. “Here we are.” Said Larry as light showed glowing armor in different styles.

Chapter 6
Bruce’s Journal:2
What have I done? One second I find this fascinating city full of life and then the next I’m signed up for some military mission. What I got from Larry is that we’re going to fight a giant spider(call the Broodmother Lyisx or something). Well other than I’ve got to know the locals. So there’s Amanda. She seems to be Larrys girlfriend and love the thrill of adventure. She has black hair and yellow eyes. She seems to be left handed too. There’s Viker, blond hair, blue eyes and a brooding attitude. He dislikes I guess me because when I came over he just vanished. And woman named Martha is Larry’s mom and scientist. She has blue eyes and brown hair like her son. She seems to have found a way to hack(as thats what they call it) the species implant. She and her husband(Joe’s what they call him) have also have got a plan on how to fight the Broodmother. I’ll have to stop here, Larry is calling me for something. So sort of briefing.

Chapter 5: The City part 2
Bruce looked around at the buildings. It might not have been the best color for it-greenish blue metal wall just look off-but other than that the city was beautiful. “A fine city you got here.” Bruce said. Larry chuckled, “You thats go, wait till you see the good end of town.”. Bruce looked at Larry’s arm and what he saw made his eye lock on. “Larry. What is that thing in your arm?” Larry looked down at his left wrist, “That? Oh that’s just a species implant. Everyone has one.” Bruce look at the wrists of everyone, even his own. “What use do they give?” Larry shrugged, “My best guess is that they help us locate missing people.” They kept walking until they came across a large group of men and some women, chatting and cleaning their guns. “Hey Larry! Come over here.” a woman’s voice called out. Larry turned to the way the voice came from, “Amanda!” The lady and Larry hugged. Amanda released Larry, “Larry where were you?”. Larry laughed, “ Getting us the last recruit.” He said. Bruce suddenly felt uneasy. “Well we’ll see what they have to offer. Otherwise I might not get off this island.” He thought as he watch Larry and Amanda laugh over a joke Larry had told Amanda.

Chapter 4:The City. Part one
Bruce just stared at the bustling city. Mothers and children going from one place to another, sailors unloading giant ships, men dressed in a glowing metal chatted. Everyone had some place to be or something to do. The man looked up and saw Bruce. “Say” the man said in a heavy southern accent “you the owner of the bird?” he pointed to Hades. Bruce nodded “ Yes sir that my dodo, Hades.” The large man laughed, “Hades? Well that’s an odd name for a dodo.” He puts his hands up, “But how am I to judge?” Bruce smiled, I don’t know.” “Right. Forgive me I forgot my manners.” The man held out a hand. “Larry’s the name.” “I’m Bruce.” “Well good to see you Bruce. You came just in time, I need your help.” Larry gestured for Bruce to follow. Bruce hesitated but decided to come. The man might not take no for an answer. Bruce followed Larry onto the docks of the city. Bruce look at everything in awe. “This place is almost as large as London.” Larry smirked, “From the United Kingdom now are we?” he asked. “Yes actually. How did you know?”. Larry winked, “Oh I just figured.”. Bruce chuckled. “This man has sense of humor. I can live with that.” He thought as the man lead him deeper into the city.

Chapter 3:A discovery
Bruce was busy collecting berries for the winter that he thought would come. He had no idea what time he got on this island a he wondered if winter would come here. His little dodo-he named it Hades because why not?-was trying to steal one of the berries from his basket he made. “No Hades” Bruce laughed “I told you, you can’t have these berries.” Hades squawked as if he was annoyed. Bruce continued picking berries. Hades wandered off into the bushes, probably looking for food. “At least I have a pet so I don’t go insane.” Bruce thought. Suddenly a very loud squawk rang out from the bushes. “Hades?” Bruce said as he put the basket down and pushed through the bushes. “Hey this is a mighty fine dodo bird.” a voice said. Bruce raised an eyebrow. He got through the last bush and saw his dodo being fed by a burly man. Bruce looked behind the man and gasped. Behind the man was a giant-no humongous-city.

Chapter: 2
Bruce’s Journals:1
*3 days later*
“Well the last few days were an adventure. I almost died a lot. First a dilophosaurus almost got me. These species must have evolved to spit poison, because the fossils I studied didn’t have the gland spaces for it. But then again we didn’t have many fossils of dilophosauruses. So anyway a raptor also showed up. Specifically an Utah-raptor. It was a beautiful beast though a deadly force to be reckoned with. Then another dilophosaurus, a pack of oversized piranhas, a Baryonx and thats all. Well there was a dodo bird that was wandering around. I decided to feed it some of these yellow berries I found and it’s following me around so I get i made a pet. But other than me getting some clothes and making a decent hut nothing really worth mentioning so I guess I’ll be signing off.”
Until next time

Chapter 30: Small memories
Bruce woke from something shaking. Sitting up and yawning, he glanced around sleepily to find Vyker taking a hand off Bruce’s sleeping bag. “Morning Bruce.” Vyker said, his voice stern, like normal. Bruce stretched his arms slightly, “Good morning Vyker. Is there something wrong, why did you wake me up?” he asked, getting up and out slowly. Vyker shrugged, “We need an early start. Chief Hiler regularly receives guests, but hates the night.”. Vyker was already moving away to clear up camp as Bruce rolled up his sleeping bag, “And where are the other two?” “Apparently, Amanda has had an acquaintance with Hiler and Tim says that he has a brother or something that lives there.” Vyker shook his head, “I let them go ahead. We’re only a mile or so to the village.” Stuffing equipment into his bag, Bruce frowned, “Do you really think that was a good idea? We all know how dangerous this ARK is.” Vyker shrugged again, looking unfazed by Bruce’s concern, “Yeah, and you know Amanda can heal and fire a gun. And Timothy is…well, let’s just say, he’s had experience.” Vyker put on his backpack and moved over to a triceratops that they had bought back at Tohigh. Bruce sighed, gently putting Sweet Dream’s cryopod into his back back and glanced around. “Is Thrasher hunting or his he with Amanda?” Bruce moved over to Hades and fed him a few berries before picking up the dodo, and putting it in a side pack on the trike. It squawked angrily at him as Bruce jumped on the trikes back with Vyker. “I saw Thrasher go hunting, but knowing the little bugger, he probably followed Timothy for a free meal.” Vyker said, clicking his tongue getting the triceratops to move. It slowly lumbered along. Bruce chuckled, “Well, Tim does feed him a lot.” “Exactly. Thrasher knows that Timothy gives him food, so he follows him instead of hunting.” Vyker said, rather coldly. Bruce, used to this demeanor, laughed. “Raptors are one of the most intelligent creatures alive.” Bruce said, in a matter-o-factly tone. Vyker rolled his eyes, “Any animal will follow food, no matter how unintelligent they are.” Looking around, Vyker sent the trike down a steeper path. Bruce curiously looked for any sigh of life. There was plenty, but not anything he was looking for. “Strange how beasts will just disappear when they want to.” “And annoying how some just won’t go away.” “Like the ants and compys?” “Yes…” Bruce smiled, glad to have sometime only with Vyker. He hadn’t had a chance to actually talk with him, and this was a nice chat, considering how little Vyker actually spoke. Vyker sneered before digging his heels in the trikes sides, making it slow down to a stop. Bruce looked around confused, “Is there something wrong?” Bruce asked, still looking around. Vyker pointed to a figure in the jungle, obscured because of the trees, “Tell me, is that a Gigaraptor, or something else?” Vyker asked. Bruce squinted, “I think it might be one of those elephant things. Blasted, forgot the name.” Vyker nodded slowly, “Right. If there’s one, there are bound to be more, and we don’t have to power to deal with a herd.” Clicking his tongue, Vyker guides the trike away from the figure, which was now moving away deeper into the tree line. Bruce watched the large shadow move away, “Should we tell the chief about that?” Bruce asked, racking his brain for information. Vyke nodded again, “Those things are aggressive if you get to close. So yes.” Vyker smiled slightly, “But, I do know a way to tame them. A friend showed me how.” Bruce looked slightly surprised, “Really?” Vyker laughed, a low booming sound, “Yes she did. She taught me a lot about animals.” “She, who? A sister?” Bruce asked confused. Vyker shrugged, “A ‘date’ I knew. Yu kun, if I’m saying that correctly. She helped me on my first days at the city. She had plans.” Vyker frowned, “Although, I’m not sure where she when’t.”
Bruce stayed silent for bit before his curiously caught up this him, “What happened?” Vyker shrugged, “Last time I remember, she said something about a cave of metal. She never understood TEKs name and different items, different things. So all I can guess is that she entered a man made cave.” Vyker glanced around watching out for danger, “I never saw her since.” After this last sentence Vyker turned quiet, guiding the trike and watching. Bruce stayed silent as well, wondering and theorizing. Something felt off, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. Shrugging off the feeling, he sighed softly, settling in the bumpy ride still wondering.
