Island Chapter 10: Reset
————
It’s the same hazy rut as always, same routines and chores… Only thing I could note was that my morale was starting to wane. I started finding myself pausing at my own reflection at times. … it’s honestly tough to call myself “human” anymore… But who cares? Not another soul around to care about it, and as far as I remember, I thought I’d prefer it that way. I hate being wrong.
—————
I woke up in the dead of night to my own personal hell. As much as I hated to abandon everything I’ve built, I needed to *LIVE*. From what I could see, the base finally got noticed by those massive demon bugs from the swamp, and everything had tried to stop it. …I might be the only survivor. Like hell I’m checking, though.
—
I clutched my sickles in my claws, pushing and slashing through the plants in my way. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t stop myself from running. At last, pushed through to the other side, diving into the river ahead and swimming across, I wouldn’t be satisfied until I couldn’t even tell where I was anymore. What snapped me to was the piranhas snapping at my legs, so I had no choice but to give ‘em hell. So here I was, painfully pulling myself ashore, bloodied and horrified.
Everything’s gone

Haha, so yeah guess who’s stupid Ascended save got deleted?

Island Chapter 12: Fireside Talk
———————
———
I grit my teeth and hissed painfully, pulling the pilfered pike into my cloak, clutching my bleeding arm. I started speaking before I could stop myself.
“WHAT THE HELL?!” I barked at the stranger, much to their shock.
“*I should ask you the same-??*” The blonde hissed back, reaching for my suspiciously pike shaped cloak. “Give it.”
I stepped out of reach, raising a bloodied hand “No. You *SHOT* me.”
“Not my fault you looked like a troodon—“ They paused, huffing? “… If I patch you up, will you stop acting like a *CHILD*?”
————
After a bit of fuss and handmade wrappings from the stranger, I found myself sitting by their fire with them, staring up at her face in silence, up until they spoke again.
“Alba,” She checked the pike over, but I could tell she was watching my in her peripheral. “That’s my name.”
“Iii… didn’t ask-?” I blinked up at her.
“You should’ve.” Alba replied curtly. “…What’s with the mask? It’s pretty easy to tell that you’re a chimera just by looking at you.”
“Huh?” It was startling and confusing to hear so *casually*… and thinking closer, it’s pretty easy to tell what she was talking about.
“Nevermind. You new here? Haven’t seen anyone like you in this area in a while.” She paused, offering some cooked meat.
I gladly took it, I was starting to get hungry, anyway. “A bit? Why, anyone else nearby?” I sunk my teeth into the cooked goodness.
“Welllll…” Alba paused, choosing her words. “The Walking City *should* be in the area. …My partner Chris is uh… Trading there right now.”
“Huh. What the hell—“

Island Chapter 13: Knowledge
—————
So far, I’ve learned a bit about this new world of mine. According to Alba, ‘chimeras’ are a sort of hybrid between some of the creatures here and humans. She didn’t seem to know where they came from, only that they’re a rarer sight. The Walking City though, is apparently this large city on the back of a massive Titanosaur, kept alive by blood packs and trade. She promised to take me when this ‘Chris’ character comes back.
——
I crouched down by the riverbank, sickles in hand. It was daytime by now, which unfortunately still came with the usual tiredness, in my case. I shifted my gaze from the water to glance back at Alba, who was curiously staring back at me from afar, as she has been since I abandoned my cloak to fish. I don’t have the nerve to ask any further.
“You’ve been sitting there for a while!” She called over.
“… Fish.” I pointed at the water with a blade, I really didn’t feel like giving any details.
“Okay…? You got a name, bat?” I watched her cross her arms in my peripheral. I hadn’t considered my own name in a while.
I paused, tilting my head back to look.
“…Ghost.” I moved like one, anyway. A fitting title. “About damn time, should’ve asked when we met.” I smirked, refocusing on the shimmering waters. Gottem.

Island Chapter 11: First Encounter
——————
I packed up my temporary camp by nightfall and moved inwards. I’ve found that under the moonlight I feel absolutely unstoppable. I pulled my cloak close and ran through the forest, far away from the behemoths I’ve started seeing near my camp spot…
…And to my absolute horror, I tripped over a rock and tumbled down a nearby hill, getting a faceful of bushes. Pulling myself up, I staggered forward, shaking off my fall to see the light of a campfire ahead. So Iiiii… stayed low and approached.
Before me stood an alert figure, firearms pointed at the bushes where I fell. My heart skipped a beat there, it was a miracle I wasn’t already seen. Couldn’t stop myself from trying my hand at some light thievery while I had the cover of darkness on my side. I had my claws wrapped around the hilt of a pike before I blew my own cover.
I just about scared myself half to death, screaming at the sound of shooting.
—————————
Ahah, so like… I’m kinda forever stuck in singleplayer bc oh no, people ;w;’, so bit of a disclaimer: I am alone and staying that way. I will, however, make up some peoples or uhhhhhhh idk, maybe turn some of my new save’s tames into people? That might be interesting so hell yeah.

Island Chapter 8: North
————
I like the way the water is now, it’s so shiny and clear. It reminds me of those photos of the Bahamas and Hawaii. Sparkling clear blue waters you can see all the way to the bottom in,
———
I travelled lightly, only my armor, weapon, tools, narcotics, and some food. Made sure to keep high above the swamp. Losing a pterosaur to one of those horrific bugs last time was enough to scare me straight. Played it safe in Redwoods too, kept myself cautious of all the terror birds, thylas, and microraptors I saw, and even the ones I didn’t see.
Found the Argy on top of this little hilly area, loaded it full of tranq arrows and food, then waited. It… took a while. So… I took it back with me. Quick stop at the smithy for a saddle, and I was northbound on a Macaw the Argy. Even though I didn’t have the right armor for it, the cold didn’t bother me at all. The wind could barely cut through my fur, either. Benefits of creachur feachur right there. Soaring over ice and snow… I found it. An anky. She was freakishly colorful, but I knew she’d serve well on the crew,

Island Chapter 9: Fluffy
—————-
I wonder what my voice sounds like here. I haven’t exactly spoken since I got here. Screamed? Yes, more than I would’ve liked to. Whistled? Yes, but that doesn’t count. However… I think I’d rather not talk, nobody around to talk to, and it’s funny keeping it a secret from myself.
———
The snowy side of the map was certainly very… something. Overstimulating. If I tried to go on foot, I think I’d just die. I made sure to guard my anky to be, but after a good while of no instant anky, I had to take a flight around. The creatures below me were all fluffy beings, packs of direwolves with pups, mammoths with the occasional baby, anddd… a giant fluffy Yuty! So naturally, I loaded ‘er up with tranq arrows, then chased on foot to finish the job. I’m STILL proud of that.
On the way back, two scruffy lil wolf pups were staring up at me with those doughy puppy eyes. Naturally, I picked them both up like oversized toys and took em over to the Yuty. Even made sure to set up a bit of a makeshift camp around my taming Yuty, I knew I was gonna be making quite a few trips.
—————
Around this time and a few Argy trips later, I probably stopped so I could write without getting too ahead of myself. It’s kinda funny how many new tames heading up to the blue obelisk got me. Those pups were probably from the direwolves I saw fighting a mammoth with the Yuty I snatched.
Kinda funny that I didn’t cause it.

Island Chapter 6: Back From the Dead
———
I woke up with the nastiest headache in all of history and propped myself up against a tree and feeling like I just got gut-punched by a bus. Staggered to my feet and whistled Paris over from her grazing, hauling myself onto her with sharp pangs of agony. Fun.
I practically gave up when I got home. A few amateur medical sessions later, I was sprawled out on the floor, staring up at the ceiling. Guess that stupid bullheaded dino got his revenge after all, huh? Well I have it’s skull. HA- ow.
I scooted myself back with my good arm, leaning against the thatch wall for support as I turned my new mask in my hands. Crossing the river cleaned it up, sure, but I used up all my fiber patching myself up, so the straps will have to wait. I set it down on the nearest storage crate and crawled into bed. Too in pain to do anything other than be in bed, anyway.

Soooo… deaths in the run(s) will be injuries. Somewhat. Plot armor can’t protect from getting your free trial of undamaged bones revoked, homie.
Your knees, my baseball bat. Plot armor THAT, protagonist. /j

Island Chapter 5: Taur
————
If I’m unlucky enough, this might be the last you’ll see from me. But either way, it’s not like I’ve seen anyone else around to mourn my loss. I hate thinking like this, so tell you what, I kill that thing, then I’m making a mask. I don’t care.
———
I loaded my crossbow with bolts and leapt onto Paris like I have so many times before. It’s muscle memory at this point. I tugged on her reigns and urged her to move and FAST. Taking her reigns in one hand, I patted her side, keeping a move on while scanning for enemies. I had only one in mind, that lurking taur, it’ll be difficult to lead new tames back home with that around.
I pulled Paris to a stop once I caught sight of its horns, pulling my crossbow from my belt, pivoting, and aiming. As soon as the first shot was fired, I knew I had to lock in and BOOK IT. I made Paris run far enough away for me to shoot it from a distance before it could catch up, hopefully taking cover in the leaves of the trees.
It wasn’t too long until the taur caught up, about two or three shots or so. It’s head collided with Paris’s side before I could even load another arrow. It all happened so fast, I was down before I knew it. It seized the moment and rammed me. God, it was sharp and painful. It bit at me, fast and fierce, sinking its fangs into the arm I threw up to protect my face.
I was just about blacking out when Paris just ran in. This absolute madlad just ran in. The message popped up a few moments later like she freakin mauled the taur to death. I was just about knocking on death’s door, but I think I’d much rather die after taking a trophy than without one. Soooo… I staggered over and uh. Collected. To hell with all of this, the aesthetic has been obtai
————
Shoutout to the time I hit the wrong button and hopped off Paris during a taur fight. And shoutout to the monster I have created by dumping some of her stats into melee for a joke. She literally was like “Screw ts I’ll do it myself” and WON.
P.S, kinda sucks that I basically have to recreate my own story just bc I forgot to write for months.

Island Chapter 4: Half Awake
———
It’s been a while since I’ve written you. I’m sorry. Have you ever had a dream before? I’m usually such a badass in mine. Sometimes I wish I could sleep without time passing in the real world, just so I could be that cool as long for as I wanted to be. Dreams never last too long, do they?
——
The day started hazy. Staggering around at the crack of dawn, emptying berries from Paris’s inventory and loading them into the trough I set up. From then on it was the usual metal run.
—
Laying forward on Paris’s back trying not to …fall asleep. It’s hard to focus. I forced myself off of her saddle, hopping down to smash my metal pickaxe against clusters of rocks. The sound helped startle me to my senses. Taking it back to the crates behind my lovely little shack… now it’s time to work for fun.
—
I leapt into the water and swam away from where I knew the taur-boi liked to stick around, keeping close enough to shore to keep the water-bound satan fish off me. Sure enough, there was a nice open river area for me to freely swim around in, even spotted a few of those penguin geese I wanted to take a crack at taming. I ducked under the water and rose up underneath one, grabbing it in both hands, only to be pecked at for the AUDACITY of trying to befriend it! Hesper-macaroni wanted some fish from me, because of course, everybody has their bribes!
—
There…wasn’t too many fish around, the coelacanths…(I think?) weren’t too active right now, and what ones I could find were snatched up by the greedy water bird as soon as I gave them. So… I had to get creative. I swam out to deeper waters, spear ready as I dove down to tick some hellfish fish off. Managed to get one in the eye before it’s butt-ugly friend could bite my ankle.
—
As soon as one went down, a storm of piranhas were there to replace it, greedily snapping up their fallen brother on their warpath. I fought like hell all the way to the shore, bitten-up, bloodied and beaten. A weirdo pengoose wasn’t worth this.
———
Man I hate waking up in the morning. They should add 2 more hours to a day for more sleeping. Just saying.
—
P.S, Sorry if the writing style’s a bit off this time, ain’t got time to be (re)learning my own style from months ago. It should be a crime to change on yourself in such a short time frame (/j)

Y’all, I’m so freakin dead, I discovered ASA a while ago and forgot to say anything lol. Prolly gonna put out a chapter by the time you guys are seeing this, but since it takes like… 9 days to go through, it’ll be a bit later, or not. Probably. Chapter 5 and/or 6(I think I’m on 5, idk rn) will wrap up my ASE save and the beginning of my ASA progress. I’m doing my best to get back to where I was, have yet to figure out how things work.
Trying my best! :D
