Use this to gather anything you can pick up by hand it will give you more things( berries, rocks flint etc.) also can whip an over encumbered tame and it will still move in the direction you’re whipping it.

Apparently the wiki says this can force wild flying dinos to land.

Concon once said whips are almost perfect for getting silica pearls early-game. Hope this helps!
