Easy way to get oil is to complete the tame ichy quest then after you do and get rewarded the saddle ride him and find an oil rock under water. Once you do swim to the surface to get a breath, then bolt back down and harvest. Repeat. And make sure you dont drowned

Case you wish to achieve constant oil without needing to search for more prey, I have a suggestion.

Basilosaurus can be harvested for up to 203 oil upon slaughtering them, however, what most people do not know is that when tamed, they will constantly produce oil that slowly decays up to a stack of twenty, after which they will not produce any more until either there is less than twenty PRODUCED oil, as they can hold as much hard oil as they like, or until it is taken out of their inventory. They also produce it REMARKABLY quickly. Less than a day, and you can have up to sixty oil, and…. About sixty gasoline in turn. If you have trouble locating these Blubberbusses, which is the name of my original Basilosaurus, then look for the Crescent-Shaped South Haven Island, a perfect base location, for reasons I explained in my Silica Pearls Guide. Many Basilosaurus will spawn in the waters and within the water around and in the island. They are a passive tame, but avoid their Manta, which will become aggressive once you have fed the beast.

In genises I recommend building a Ocean platform and putting like 4 x basilorsauruses there or tusos(giant squid) and each one will produce 20 oil for you but watch out it quickly spoils and its called ink but it works the same as oil

When you need oil on abberation, you should go to the spine not the surface, the surface will burn you and you only get like 3 oil for it, but in the spine it will give you hundreds of it. Or just use your dung beetle I don’t care anymore.

Hesperornis Eggs can be cooked in the cooking pot/industrial cooker to make oil.
