When hatching an egg without an incubator, the best way is definitely dimetrodons. However, if you don’t have them, hatch them near the nest, because if you can walk the baby off of a cliff or into water, it forces it to enter a flight state. Most people think this is permanent until it reaches adulthood, but if you freeze it with a snow owl it will immediately be forced to the ground. Hope this helps
