ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Wassup, people. New update that ISN’T just a status report.
My project is named Codex Urthaa. I don’t really know what genre it’d be, it’s just something I found in my Google Docs that’s like…two years old, I think. Here’s an excerpt (if you steal it I will throw you out a window. Metaphorically):
Urthaa. It’s eerily similar to Earth, but it never went through any major extinctions. More so, it’s circled by two moons. Terva, a moon roughly the same size as Earth’s, gleaming silver, and Tirra, glowing red like a demon’s eye, circling his silver sister, like a wolf chasing a deer. Urthaa orbits Ferunner, ‘Blazing-Eye’, a 1.35 Solar Mass (so not much larger than our Sun) star.
CLANS AND CREEDS
On Urthaa, humanity is split into six ancient Clans.
The Ere’kaa; Huntsmen. Crusaders. Brutal yet cunning. Their Code: “Honor, through brutality.” The Ere’kaa live in and on the mountains bordering the Ero’tul‘s tundra. They feed cooking fires using the dung of their Ter’vaan, as do most Clans, other than the Yuur and Tyrvun.
The Sahr; Bounty hunters, assassins, cannibals. Their Code: “Glory, through devouring.” They live in the Western Black-pine Forest.
The Tyrvun; Pyromaniacs, surprisingly honorable warriors, occasional mercenaries. They ride on the backs of massive wyverns known as Boggr’u, and thus only use their Ter’vaan to butcher surviving enemies. The green fire-venom of the Boggr’u is stored in sacs under their necks, which the Tyrvun use as fuel for rudimentary flamethrowers. Their Code: “Chaos forges the strongest steel.” They live in the South-eastern Badlands.
The Yuur: Sky-pirates, mercenaries, nomads. They, too, ride on the backs of Boggr’u. Their Code: “Strike ruthless, strike swift.” Due to them being nomads, they have no set territory.
The Suun’tai; Farmers, shepherds, archers, expert scouts. Their Code: “If you take what is ours, do not expect to survive.” They live in the Southern Plains.
SACRED CLAW
There is one beast ALL respect; the Ter’vaan. A taller, leaner descendant of the Inostracevia, with barbed bone-blades at the end of their tails that retract into keratin ‘sheaths.’ For most breeds, their feathers are brown, black, or gray, but some have reddish feathers. Most have dusty brown scales.
You cannot TAME a Ter’vaan; you must bond with it. When a rider dies, a Ter’vaan pierces its own heart with its barbed tail-blades, and when their Ter’vaan dies, a warrior either stabs themselves through the heart, or walks into enemy territory unarmed to be killed.
(Point of stuff I messed up, if you notice it. I know I probably got some stuff wrong grammatically.)
