The Promise of New Life. Prologue. The silver egg pulsed steadily. Luvik, the father, and Mufik, the mother, were resting, legs draped across each other. “Lu? Come over, I’ll buy you a drink!” A voice called, echoing throughout the misty treetops. The Karkinos stayed silent. The Bloodstalker moved towards her egg. The egg shook violently, disturbing the fragile tendrils holding it in place. It spilt, revealing the creature within. It was an odd looking bloodstalker, silver with red webbing. He had long, sharp claws, a very handsome face, and six long, thin legs. But the odd thing was that where there should have been the main thick toe and two separate skinner toes, it was a sharp jagged point, like a Karkinos’s foot. “What’s his name going to be? Jaggedclaw?” The honey-like voice of the female asked. The hard voice of the male replied, “Deathstalker. A fierce name for a fierce warrior.” -Dragonslayer-
