The Five Talons of Abberation, Prologue...

A creature paced in the shadows, circling her. She heard it's growls and chitters, and it was clear that it was hunting her. That's why they had thrown her in that pit, after all. The creature emerged slightly from the shadows. A long, pointed spike was perched atop of its snout, with a smaller matching one underneath, on its chin. It had shimmering neon white eyes, and she watched as they hungrily glared at her. It's jaw hung open, like a door with creaky hinges, hanging in the cold, dank air. All was silent except for the creatures chitters. Drool hung out of its mouth, dripping onto the cold stone floor and echoing around the cavern. It had clearly been starved, and she was about to become its meal. It dashed forward, coming to a stop right in front of her. It lowered itself to the ground, looking at her with its empty, soulless eyes. It chittered and screeched, roaring in her face. Her eyes widened in terror, and a lump formed in her throat. It tilted its head slowly. It was... playing with her. It was obviously highly intelligent. She backed up against the wall of the pit, breathing hard. Then, it's long, spiky tail lashed back and forth as it got ready to snap at her. And as soon as it did, she ducked, dodging it's glistening white teeth. She ran across, and caught sight of a glimpse of hope. A bunch of small, sharp rocks jutting out of the edge of the pit. Unfortunately for the people who had throw her in here, she was a great climber. She ran towards the rocks, hearing the beast stomping behind her. She threw herself at the rocks, gripping them and climbing up them as fast as her limbs could move. Then, she ran out of that dark, shadowy place of no names as fast as she could.
