Journey: Chapter 15

Nectar flew over the redwoods. As she did, Forest told her all that had happen to him and how he ended up there. She flew around volcano to the entrance of the volcano on the north side.

“This is as far as go on boys. I wish you luck Forest. I hope you’re able to get home.” Nectar said, “Thank you Nectar, I hope so too.” Forest said and waved to her as she got into the air and flew away. Forest turned as he heard Nightfall mumbling to himself about her attitude against him and it was entirely unacceptable and for her to call him a Nightcrawler who was the size of a Microraptor.

“Speaking of you Nightfall, what was all that back there about you killing two members of your kind?!” Forest said to Nightfall. “Well, I had told you I had resigned, but I didn’t tell you why.” Nightfall said, “Okay?” Forest said.

“Alright so my mother is the district leader, I joined and she was afraid that I would try to overthrow her and take control as district leader. So she thought she would do it to me first and try to out me.” Nightfall explained.

“Your mother is Mira?!” Forest asked shocked, “Yeah, and she tried to outs me at least a dozen times, loosing support each time. However, I never wanted to take control. So because I was considered a threat to her, I resigned and how you do that in the order is by leaving a gift in the meeting area and running for it.” Nightfall said.

“So your mother sent troops after you to bring you back for punishment?” Forest asked, “Yep, two, they were expecting little fight from me due to my size, but they were wrong. I fought because my life depended on it, I had to kill them. Loosing a toe claw in the process. And that was only a few days before I tried stealing from you.” Nightfall said.

“Now come on, the terminal is just up this way!!” Nightfall said enthusiastically, “Terminal!!! But there’s no obelisk!?!?” Forest said.

As the sun set, Forest and Nightfall ran through the another path that ran through a small canyon. However this one was much shorter and safer. They got to the end and saw the lava field and the terminal on the other side with a weird wall that the terminal was close to.

“Woah, that’s really cool!” Forest said with mouth open. “Yep and I think this time you should be guarantee to go home.” Nightfall said boastfully, “How can you be so-”.

Forest said before realizing that something was glowing in his bag, he opened it to see the rune’s green light glowing bright and pulsing.

“You know I think you’re right!” Forest said with excitement. “Ha, Told You- Wait I am??” Replied Nightfall.

But Forest reply and grabbed Nightfall, jumped out over the lava field. He dived downward towards the terminal and reached out his paw with the rune in his hand and crashed into the terminal.

He heard for a second Nightfall screaming something in dodo and then the bright white light mixed with little bits of rainbow. He tried to yell but he couldn’t open his mouth or say anything. He looked down at his hands, he could see the rune in one and see straps from his bag around him, in the distance behind him though, he saw a fuzz that was surrounded by light, he couldn’t tell what it was but he didn’t really care at the moment. He was going home and that’s all he cared about.

The light ended and all he saw was a massive storm, it covered the entire area he could see. He felt pain as he fell, like thousands of little bites from ant and he hit something and went unconscious.
