Chapter Two: The file.

“…sitting here rotting my life away in this stupid jail cell! While my allies do nothing too save me! Stupid Rockwell, I don’t need you, I can get out on my own!” A dark voice muttered. Buddy walked in between the jail cells, looking at the prisoners. Among them was an frail black terror bird. The terror bird continued muttering quietly. Buddy walked up too the cell. “How are you holding up brother?” Buddy asked. Ember glared at him. “ADOPTED!! Besides why would you care?” Ember snapped. Buddy looked at him strangely. Buddy leaned forward and looked straight into Ember’s eyes. “You know what I want!” Buddy whispered coldly. Ember sunk closer too the floor. “Give it. Now!” Buddy whispered. Ember nodded and backed towards the back of the room. He lifted a tile with his beak and pulled a small book from underneath it. He walked up too Buddy and dropped the book in between the bars. “All the information you need is inside this file, Edmund.” Ember whispered. Buddy opened the file and read it quickly. “Ah… so your brother has a living daughter! Your allies captured her?” A old cracked voice asked from Buddy’s mouth. “I think so, I don’t really know because I’m locked in a prison cell!” Ember sneered. Buddy looked at the file and it shriveled into a burnt black piece of paper. Buddy looked at Ember. Buddy’s eyes flashed white and he fell backwards. “Why am I down here?” Buddy muttered. He looked very confused. Ember chuckled ominously. “Have you come to release me? Have you finally figured out my true greatness? Have you come too asks for help? Is running a kingdom harder then you thought it would be? Mostly the first and second question!” Ember asked hopefully. “N-wait what?” Buddy asked. Ember grinned evily and backed into the shadows of the cell. “You don’t see anything….” Ember said ominously from the shadows. Buddy shook his head in confusion and walked away.
