Archeopteryx are perhaps not the most useful tame, but at least they glide. Here’s a guide to get one of these feathery companions yourself.

1. Archeopteryx are sometimes found in the redwoods, and can be difficult to spot. Because of this I recommend using a fast and/or powerful land mount to scout for these. You can also use it to kill nearby aggressive creatures when you find one

2. One you have found one, I recommend using a bola to keep it in place while you tranq it, because they are small and fast and hard to tranq running free. Bring a little over 5 tranq arrows or 5ish tranq darts. They can be headshot so if you hit it, you’ll only need 1 to 3.

3. These will eat chitin or simple kibble, so if you don’t care about losing a little taming effectiveness, use chitin, but kibble will make it faster and may save a few levels. If you are using chitin, bring a few narcs because it’s torpor does drop fast and you will probably need them
