if anyone had a brain, they know that a net is the best way to ko it. if you don't have access to nets, either use a tek suit, have a friend carry you on a dino, (if your in a server or multiplayer) or as a last resort, you can grab a trap and look for a quetzal you haven't seen before, and place the trap. if you don't know quetzals will fall to the ground when first loaded in, so just place the trap quickly and you can ko it. I wish people were actually decent at this game.
