Chapter IV
Part II
The man stepped into the light, swiftly putting his spear through a strap on his back. I approached, wary. He smiled at me, before saying
“Hello, Dilath, I have been awaiting you.” I looked up on shock, and now I was even more so, he had two-colored eyes, one a brown color, flecked with pure white, like frozen dirt, the other was steely gray. “Who are you?” I asked. “My name, is Blackmoon, Blackmoon of Dorban. You are Dilath Julius of Southwest Pyrrhia. Am I correct?” I stumbled back on shock, swiftly, he grabbed one of my arms. “Don’t fall. There’s a cliff down there,” he said with a laugh. My hand drifted down towards my own spear. Beforehand, I had sharpened it to perfection. He flashed a look at my spear. “Don’t, boy. I’m not going to attack you. I’m a guide, not a murderer. Now follow me.” I followed, yet still my hand drifted to my spear. It was a small one, able to be stored at my side. Eventually, we reached a concealed area, and he waved me in. Behind it, was a cave that was full of… beasts: massive, pure red raptors, a creature that looked like a giganotasaur, but with a dilo’s frills, and an ankylo with a trike’s horns. “These… are my tames, my… army of forgotten beasts. They were cast out here, by a dark master. You may stay here, for a while,” said Blackmoon. “Thank you, sir.” I replied.
He grinned, and said
“I forgot how much fun having a tribe was.”
Then, he disappeared into his house.
