ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
I remember when I managed to get three eggs on a ptera on my singleplayer Valguero world. Though it may not seem like that much of an accomplishment in the eyes of a pro ARK player, I was very proud. After incubating them with a ton of torches, they hatched. Two reddish-orange and black male deinonychuses hatched out of one egg. I named them Guinea and Fowl. Another red and black female hatched out of another(I can’t remember her name). And my favorite, Fright, hatched out of the last one. He was orange and purple.
One day, I was flying around Chalk Hills on my ptera, where there were tons of deinonychuses and allosaurs everywhere. In the midst of all the chaos— I saw it. It was a majestic white unicorn prancing through the fields. I quickly pulled out my map and marked the area where I saw it, then flew back to my base as quick as possible. I mounted Guinea (who was the highest lvl at the time) and tried to get to the area where I saw the unicorn. I decided to get a birds-eye view by climbing onto a cliff.
I was filled with dread when I heard the roar and stomping of an allosaurus. Immediately, Guinea started to bleed as soon as it fixes its jaws onto him. I tried to get away with Guinea, but soon realized he wasn’t meant to get away from here alive. So I dismounted and jumped off of the cliff, landing into a pond below. From there, I made my escape. After I saw Guinea’s death message, the loud thump of the allo’s feet started getting louder and louder as it got closer. I suddenly realized that I could divert its attention toward the nearby equus herd by weaving inbetween them. It worked, and I managed to return safely. Guinea’s grave now sits atop a sunny hill right beside my first pteranodon’s grave.
Though I lost one of my first deinonychuses, his memory lives on in his twin brother, Fowl.
