As Angus' blade connected with his, Jared's sword coursed with electricity and grew red hot. The or blades connected again, and this time Jared's sword melted. The blade hit his flak armor. You know how lightning reacts to metal? Jared was wearing metal. Now imagine how being wrapped in tin foil and getting struck by lightning would feel. His skin burned and blistered. His blood boiled.

Petra watched as all this happened. Ranesh was hiding again. Her back still hurt from the implant, but she was ready for a fight. As Angus raised his sword to kill Jareds crumpled body, she shot an arrow. He caught in one hand and turned to looks at her. "I thought I killed you?" He said. " Not well enough."
