Amethyst flew back into the canopy after the battle with the centipede, after a few hours, they reached the blood ring of the crystal jungle, the giant crystals that looked out of the ground were all shades of dark red, and the trees had red flowers and leaves and flowers on long stretchy vines with needle-sharp spines in the centre.

"Be careful of vampire trees around this area" Amethyst said. "They have a sharp spike in the middle of their flowers that they use to stab their prey and suck it's blood, that's what gives the leaves their red colour"

They flew on through the area for a while, mostly the vampire trees were only interested in passing bats, jabbing with their long spikes and dropping the shriveled husks of their prey a few minutes later, but one or two bold trees tried to stab at them as they went past.

"We should try to find something to eat" Bluefeathers said.

"Yes" Obsidian agreed, "there are plenty of salmon in the rivers" Amethyst said, "and there are daeodons on the ground"

Amethyst swooped down and grabbed a small primal crystal in his talon, starting to absorb it's energy into his crystals until it lost all of its colour and shattered into tiny pieces.

Bluefeathers snuck up on a daeodon, killing it with a bite to its neck and starting to eat it, and Lupus and his wolf went over to a bright red haemoglobin river and started catching salmon, while Obsidian caught another daeodon and roasted it with her fire.
