You can easily make a "one size fits almost all" trap by using 4 stone dino gateways and 2 reinforced dino gates:

Ingredients: 1240 stone, 640 wood, 440 thatch

1. Place the 4 stone dino gateways in a row but leave enough space between them that you are able to fit through

2. Put the 2 gates on both ends of the contraption

You're finished, now here's how to use this trap:

1. Open both sides of the trap by targeting then tapping on the gateframe or gate (if you're on old mobile these can automatically close after a few moments)

2. Aggro any medium sized dino you wanna tame like a carno or theri, you can also use rare flowers if its a dino that doesnt aggro normally then run to the trap and make sure the dino that's chasing you is facing headfirst towards the trap.

3. When the dino gets close enough close the gate on the side of the trap facing away from the dino, then in the time the gate takes to close the dino should be inside the trap, then quickly run to the other side of the trap and close the other gate by targeting the gateframe.

If instead you are trying to trap a fast creature like a galliminus or procoptodon here's an alternative method:

1. Open the gate on the side of the trap the dino will be coming from

2. Stand inside the trap while making sure the dino that's chasing you is facing headfirst towards the trap.

3. Wait until the dino enters the trap with you while tanking some damage then exit the trap from the sides, while the dino is looking at you unable to reach you target the gateframe of the gate that's open then close the gate.

This trap works for all creatures except brontos, diplos, mammoths, paracers, quetzals, rexes, spinos, rhinos, gigas, titanosaurs, and any water creature that's a basilosaurus or bigger.

You can also trap theris using this as they will only be able to deal 1 damage or more only using their headbutt attack since they have a 2.5% damage multiplier.

If you wanna trap sea giants you can build this trap exactly the same way as described above but replace the stone dino gateways with behemoth stone dino gateways, the reinforced dino gates with behemoth reinforced gates, and make sure to leave space between every gateway to fit an ichthy and it will cost 4500 stone, 4500 wood, and 4500 thatch.
