To make Preserving Salt, combine Raw Salt, and Sulfur in a Mortar and Pestle for 5 seconds. It spoils in 20 minutes. The Preserving Salt unlocks at level 5 and requires 3 Engram Points.
You can get Sulfur from killing wyverns as well instead of having to look for the rocks near volcanic areas
